Charles Dickens' A CHRISTMAS CAROL returns to the Spriet Stage this season starring Jan Alexandra Smith as SCROOGE, in a gender-flipping twist on the holiday classic. Audiences will be immersed in the spectacle of Ebenezer Scrooge and her transformation at the hands of ghostly spirits from Christmas Past, Present, and Future. Adapted by Grand Theatre Artistic Director Dennis Garnhum, A CHRISTMAS CAROL debuted last season to sold-out houses. It returns this holiday season directed by Artistic Associate, Megan Watson. Commemorating the 100th anniversary of the end of World War I, the Grand Theatre will honour the sacrifices of our soldiers past and present with the Governor General Award-winning story, TIMOTHY FINDLEY'S THE WARS  based on the book of the same name by one of Canada's most distinguished authors. Adapted and directed by Grand Theatre Artistic Director, Dennis Garnhum, TIMOTHY FINDLEY'S THE WARS launches the 18/19 season on the Spriet Stage, running from October 23 to November 11, Remembrance Day.  The Title Sponsor for TIMOTHY FINDLEY'S THE WARS is BlueStone Properties.

Artistic Director Dennis Garnhum has announced principal casting for the 2018/19 season including Seana McKenna as Penelope in MARGARET ATWOOD'S THE PENELOPIAD, Jan Alexandra Smith as Scrooge in this season's gender-flipping A CHRISTMAS CAROL, Nigel Shawn Williams as Troy Maxson and E.B. Smith as Jim Bono in AUGUST WILSON'S FENCES, and Alex Furber as Robert Ross in TIMOTHY FINDLEY'S THE WARS.    

The Grand Theatre is pleased to announce that 2018/19 single tickets go on sale to the general public on July 3. Since subscriptions went on sale earlier this spring, the UK hit BARBER SHOP CHRONICLES is already 50% sold to subscribers who have scooped up seats for this production's only Canadian engagement. Other productions selling quickly include AN UNDISCOVERED SHAKESPEARE, which is completely sold out, and MAGGIE & PIERRE, which has been extended due to high demand.

Lost and Found Productions is thrilled to present the first show of their third season - Timothy Findley's Elizabeth Rex. Performances will be June 22 through July 14 with shows Friday and Saturday nights at 7:30 PM. Tickets are $15 in advance/$20 at the door. All performances will be at The Bug Theatre at 3654 Navajo Street in Denver.

The Grand Theatre is thrilled to announce its 2018/19 Season. It is a season that brings the internationally acclaimed National Theatre from London, England to London, Ontario, and introduces collaborations with Canada's leading theatrical companies including Stratford Festival, National Arts Centre, Catalyst Theatre, Charlottetown Festival, and Crow's Theatre, among others. And, finally, works of Margaret Atwood and Timothy Findley, which have been adapted for the stage, come to the theatre.

For this season, two shows will be performed in two locations, offering different neighborhoods in Denver access to Lost and Found's unique mission of performing "lost" shows in "found" spaces. BroadwayWorld has learned that English actor/director Robin Phillips has died. Best known as a driving force behind the revitalization of Ontario's Stratford Festival in the 1970s, Phillips passed away yesterday, July 25, following a prolonged illness. He was 73.

On Tuesday, Nov. 18th, two weeks after Remembrance Day, Toronto's TIFF Bell Lightbox will present one of Canada's greatest ... and rarely seen anti-war movies - Robin Phillips' adaptation of Timothy Findley's The Wars, (a Canadian-West German co-production.) It won the 1978 Governor General's Prize for literature. Findley also wrote the screenplay.
