Andrew Lloyd Webber is set to greet Prince Charles and the Duchess of Cornwall as they arrive at his theatre, The Palladium, for the Royal Variety performance tomorrow, 25 Nov., BroadwayWorld has confirmed.

The cast for the World Premiere of Stephen Ward, directed by Richard Eyre, will comprise Alexander Hanson as Stephen Ward, Charlotte Spencer as Christine Keeler, Charlotte Blackledge as Mandy Rice Davies, Anthony Calfas Lord Astor, Daniel Flynn as John Profumo, Joanna Riding as Valerie Hobson, Ian Conningham as Ivanov, Chris Howell as Murray, Ricardo Coke Thomas as Lucky Gordon and Wayne Robinson as Johnny Edgecomp. Morphic Graffiti has announced that Tim Walton will be playing the title role in the forthcoming production of The Revenge of Sherlock Holmes! at the renowned Hoxton Hall. Tim is a leading West End actor with credits that include Matilda, Love Never Dies, Wicked and most recently Kiss Me Kate at the Old Vic.

Today, Michael Riedel reports in the New York Post that the show is now aiming to open on Broadway in the Spring of 2013, produced by the RSC themselves and overseen by Andre Ptaszynski, who formerly ran Andrew Lloyd Webber's The Really Useful Group.
Following a sensational sell-out season at The Courtyard Theatre, the RSC's production of MATILDA THE MUSICAL transfered to London's West End and opened November 24 to tremendous critical acclaim, and according to Whatsonstage, plans will soon be made concerning bringing the new musical to Broadway. RSC artistic director Michael Boyd announced at a press conference last week that the Mailda team will travel to New York at the end of January to discuss future Broadway plans. Additionally the RSC will 'retain "absolute control" over the production.'
