On Sunday, February 21st at 9:30pm, Jonathan Larson Award and Mary Rodgers/Lorenz Hart Award winners Tim Rosser and Charlie Sohne will be back on the Feinstein's/54 Below stage for the first time in over 2 years. Hear selections from some of their latest projects including Run Away Home, Talk To Me, The Boy Who Danced on Air, and their new slash fiction boy band pilot Truth Slash Fiction.  

On Thursday, January 7th a cast of Broadway favorites once again brought the popular Instagram/Twitter trend of #tbt to the stage of 54 Below with #tbtLIVE Throwback Thursday: The Concert. During the big night, Broadway favorite Robin de Jesus performed a 'Feminist Medley,' which was arranged by Tim Rosser. Check it out below!

?Broadway Backwards, the annual celebration where the LGBT community see its stories told through the great songs of musical theatre by celebrated Broadway performers, will return for its 11th edition on Monday, March 21, 2016.

There's probably nothing more thrilling than to have an opportunity to listen to the works of some of the musical theatre composers that the world might not know - yet, that is. As part of the American Society of Composers, Authors, and Publishers' (ASCAP) Musical Theatre Week at the Kennedy Center, local audiences will have such an exciting opportunity - for free!

The Dramatists Guild Fund to host annual presentation of new work by DG Fellows at Playwrights Horizons (416 W 42nd St) in New York on October 19, 2015 at 7:00 PM. The presentation features excerpts from work by the 2014-2015 class including Naveen Bahar Choudhury, Camille Darby, Sophie Jaff, Dana Levinson, Kristine M. Reyes, Tim Rosser, Charlie Sohne, Mark Sonnenblick, Aurin Squire, Kathleen Tagg, James A. Tyler, Stacey Weingarten and Ben Wexler.

The American Music Theatre Project at Northwestern University and The Johnny Mercer Foundation will celebrate the 10th anniversary of The Johnny Mercer Foundation Songwriters Project with 15 emerging professional songwriters from across the country, three award-winning master teachers and Mercer Songwriters Project alumni guests.

Kathy Evans, Founding Executive Director of Rhinebeck Writers Retreat, announced the 17 writers and 8 new musicals selected for the fifth summer of weeklong retreats. For eight consecutive weeks beginning July 5th, each writing team will have a residency in Rhinebeck, New York. Writers are provided a private home, transportation, food, and a $400 stipend. This year's writers include Obie winner Kirsten Childs, Tony nominee Elizabeth Davis, and 2015 Jonathan Larson award-winners Charlie Sohne, Tim Rosser, and Sam Willmott, who also just won the Kleban Prize. 

The National Alliance for Musical Theatre (NAMT) announces nine awards granted from their National Fund for New Musicals, a major funding program to support NAMT member not-for-profit theatres in their collaborations with writers to create, develop and produce new musicals. Now in its seventh year, the Fund will provide grants totaling $46,000 to ten organizations across the country.

Diversionary Theatre has announced their 2015/2016 Season; an impressive hand-selected assortment of five critically-acclaimed productions curated by the theatre's new Executive Artistic Director: Matt M. Morrow.  This year's collection of productions feature pieces by ground-breaking award-winning playwrights, five premieres (one world-wide, three West Coast, and one San Diego), several exciting renowned guest artist collaborations, and the impressive return of fan-favorite San Diego artists. 

Tonight, April 13th, The 24 Hour Company is teaming with the Exchange, an off-Broadway theater company, to create the seventh 24 Hour Musicals. A team of more than 100 - including stars from Broadway, film, television, and music - will cast, write, compose, direct, rehearse, tech, and perform four original musicals - all in the obscenely short time between an evening meet-and-greet on Sunday, April 12 and show time tonight, April 13 at 8pm. The event benefits the Exchange's summer program, The Orchard Project, which incubates and accelerates innovative new theatrical work from around the world.

On May 3, 2015 at 2pm, New York Theatre Barn (Theatre Barn) presents its exclusive Spring Benefit - a one-time only presentation of Gotta Dance: A Choreography Conversation at Symphony Space, 2537 Broadway at 95th Street.

The American Theatre Wing just recognized the recipients of the 2015 Jonathan Larson Grants: writing team Tim Rosser (composer) & Charlie Sohne (composer) receiving $10,000,Sam Willmott (composer/lyricist) receiving $10,000 and a week-long residency at the Running Deer Musical Theatre Lab, and Max Vernon (composer/lyricist) receiving $10,000. This year's recipients were selected by an expert panel consisting of Amanda Green (Hands on a Hardbody), Steven Lutvak (A Gentleman's Guide to Love and Murder), and Ted Chapin (President and Executive Director of Rodgers & Hammerstein). The prestigious grants totaling $30,000 were presented last night, March 23, 2015 at a private event at the WNYC Greene Space. BroadwayWorld brings you photos from inside the special event below!

Well-Strung has been establishing a growing presence amongst Broadway fans. The all-male, singing string quartet whose members are Chris Marchant, Daniel Shevlin, Trevor Wadleigh and Edmund Bagnell, was the brainchild of Manager Mark Cortale and Marchant. They first came on to BroadwayWorld's radar when they appeared onstage for the Opening Gala of the Walt Disney Theater in Orlando, part of the new Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts. The gala was directed by Richard Jay-Alexander and conducted by Mary-Mitchell Campbell, with members of the Orlando Philharmonic Orchestra. But check out who they shared the stage with: Sierra Boggess, Deborah Voigt, Chris Mann, Norm Lewis & more. We then saw them at the Hirschfeld Theatre in another stellar line-up that included Rob McClure, Julie Haltson, Tituss Burgess, Lena Hall, Florence Henderson, Norm Lewis, Brian Stokes Mitchell, Lillias White, Lily Tomlin and more Broadway favorites for Broadway Backwards, on March 9th, directed by Robert Bartley with musical supervision by Mary-Mitchell Campbell and conducted by Tim Rosser. The guys definitely impressed.
