Broadway Legend Stephen Schwartz believes life works a-lot better if you give to others what you would like to receive back. He was eight years old when he went to his first Broadway Show, became smitten and followed up with Juilliard Prep and a directing major at Carnegie Mellon.

In January, New Conservatory Theatre Center is proud to offer audiences the world premiere of Tim Pinckney's Still at Risk directed by Dennis Lickteig. This takes a new look at the personal and political effects of HIV/AIDS on the LGBT community decades after the crisis through the play's main character Kevin, a surviving activist from the front lines of the AIDS crisis who is struggling to find purpose in a modern age of greater gay rights. When an unexpected event threatens to erase the history he was part of creating, his anger and passion are renewed. Deeply moving and possessing sharp humor, Still at Risk is a powerful look at the hazards of rewriting the past, and one man's attempt to move forward.

New Conservatory Theatre Center Founder & Artistic Director Ed Decker announced the line-up for NCTC's 2017-18 subscription season last night at NCTC's annual Season Announcement Party for subscribers, donors and artists.

Stacey Luftig and Phillip Palmer, winners of the 2015 Fred Ebb Award, will present an invitation only showcase of their acclaimed work MY HEART IS THE DRUM on Monday, June 6th at 5 PM at the York Theatre (619 Lexington Avenue at East 54th Street, New York City)  

The Fred Ebb Foundation, in association with the Roundabout Theatre Company, will present the twelfth annual Fred Ebb Award for aspiring musical theatre songwriters.  Applications for the award, named in honor of the late award-winning lyricist Fred Ebb, will be accepted from June 1- 30, 2016.  The winner will be selected in November of 2016.  Eligibility criteria and Application forms can be found at the foundations website: www.fredebbfoundation.org.

Featuring a stellar cast from Broadway, TV and film, this one-night event will be directed by Carl Andress (The Tribute Artist, The Divine Sister).

On Monday, February 22nd at 7 PM, Tom Kirdahy Productions and Broadway Cares/ Equity Fights AIDS will present a benefit reading of STILL AT RISK, a new play by Tim Pinckney (Message to Michael, Ever So Humble) benefiting The Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual & Transgender Community Center of New York City.   Featuring a stellar cast from Broadway, TV and film, this one night event will be directed by Carl Andress (The Tribute Artist, The Divine Sister)  

The Fred Ebb Foundation (Mitchell Bernard, Trustee) has announced that its 2015 donation to Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS will total $1.65 million dollars, bringing the foundation's total contribution to BC/EFA to $11.65 million since it began eleven years ago. The foundation, which is funded by royalties from the late award-winning lyricist Fred Ebb's vast catalogue of work, makes an annual donation to BC/EFA.
