Film and television star Robert Powell will join the cast of Singin' in the Rain from 1 October 2012, as the five star West End production announces the release of over 300,000 new tickets, taking bookings at the Palace Theatre to 1 September 2013. The news coincides with the 60th anniversary of the release of the iconic 1952 MGM film version starring Gene Kelly, Donald O'Connor and Debbie Reynolds. The Original London Cast Recording of this production of Singin' in the Rain was also recently released by First Night Records, reaching number one on the soundtrack chart during its first month on sale.

More than 250,000 new tickets have today been released for sale for the West End hit musical SINGIN' IN THE RAIN, now booking through to 23 February 2013. Chichester Festival Theatre celebrates its 50th birthday with an anniversary season that echoes and acknowledges the past while also looking to the future. Uncle Vanya was part of Chichester's very first season in 1962 and became a key part of its history and is revisited during Festival 2012. The Way of the World in 1984 has also become an emblematic production; the play will feature again this year.

Cameron Mackintosh, who was full of praise when he saw the show in Regent's Park, is thrilled to be able to play host to the production in one of his theatres. CRAZY FOR YOU reunites director Timothy Sheader and choreographer Stephen Mear, who were responsible for the multi-award winning production of Hello, Dolly!.

West End comedy Yes, Prime Minister has packed up their bags and move next door to the Gielgud Theater. The recession-busting play, which has run constantly since May 2010, either in the West End or on tour, moved from the 775-seat Apollo Theatre on Shaftesbury Avenue to the even bigger 889-seat Gielgud Theatre, just one door down. For the first time in recent history, the two neighbouring theatres are both displaying hoardings for the same show.
