OUR HOUSE - "A place of heart and hearth which you are never sad to go back to" - will mark it's 10th anniversary with a celebratory West End gala concert at the Savoy Theatre in aid of Help for Heroes on Sunday November 11th at 7:00 pm.
This morning Olney Theatre Center Artistic Director Martin Platt announced the Theatre's 75th Anniversary Season. The award-winning Theatre's season will emphasize 20th-century American classics, new works, reinterpretations of classics and musical theater.
Following a limited season at the Menier Chocolate Factory and a UK Tour Educating Rita, the Olivier Award-winning comedy by Willy Russell, will play at the Assembly George Square Theatre this summer from Wednesday 1st - Sunday 26th August 2012 as part of the 2012 Edinburgh Festival Fringe. Claire Sweeney plays Rita and Matthew Kelly is Dr Frank Bryant in a production directed by Tamara Harvey.
As previously announced for STEP 9 (OF 12), joining Blake Harrison in his West End debut as Keith will be Wendy Nottingham, Barry McCarthy and Benjamin Dilloway. The show opens at Trafalgar Studios in a new production directed by Tom Attenborough. The four-week run begins tonight, May 4, 2012 at 7.00pm.

The response - both to the calendar and the women themselves - was incredible: to date, the original "calendar girls" have raised over £2 million for Leukaemia Research.

BroadwayWorld previously reported that the musical version of KINKY BOOTS, which had a New York reading back in October, is aiming to open on Broadway next season. Producer Daryl Roth revealed in a newsletter that the production would include the talents of Broadway veterans Stark Sands and Billy Porter. The musical features music and lyrics by Cyndi Lauper and a book by Harvey Fierstein. Tony-winner Jerry Mtchell will both direct and choreograph the production.
According to the Chicago Tribune, the production might make a stop in Chicago before landing on Broadway. A spokesperson for Broadway in Chicago revealed that the show is looking into playing the Windy City for its out-of-town tryout, before opening on Broadway in the 2012-13 season.

When the ladies of Rylstone Women's Institute came up with the idea of stripping off for a charity calendar back in 1998 they had no idea they would spark a global phenomenon. Now, just over ten years on, they have filled more column inches than they can count, been the subject of a smash hit movie and the record breaking stage production which is currently touring the UK after a triumphant run in London's West End.
As previously reported, Cyndi Lauper is writing the music and lyrics for KINKY BOOTS - The Musical, with a book by Harvey Fierstein, and Jerry Mitchell as director/choreographer. Daryl Roth and Hal Luftig are on board as producers and Stephen Oremus will be the musical supervisor.

According to aceshowbiz.com, Cyndi Lauper has teamed up with Survivor producer Mark Burnett to create a reality show centered on her life in New York City. The show would also feature her husband of 19 years, actor David Thornton and their 12 year-old son, Declyn. Lauper was last seen on TV in this season's Celebrity Apprentice.
