MADAM SECRETARY had a little something for everyone this week as our Secretary enters into a Moldavian conflict, Henry enters back into the spy game with his NSA work, and son Jason, enters into the dating pool with a new girl at school. Also back, is our conspiracy theory about the death of former Secretary of State Marsh, and I am almost embarrassed to admit how I am slowly coming around on that topic.

CBS has given full season orders to all four of its new dramas, including the #1 and #2 new series of the season, NCIS: NEW ORLEANS and SCORPION, Sunday's #1 scripted broadcast, MADAM SECRETARY, and the time period-winning suspense thriller STALKER. CBS Studios International and Sky today announced a licensing deal for the exclusive UK broadcast rights to the sophisticated new drama MADAM SECRETARY. The show will premiere in the coming months on Sky Living.

CBS reports that their new drama series MADAM SECRETARY was the most-watched scripted show of the night with 12.66 million viewers, while averaging 2.3/06 in adults 25-54 and 1.4/04 in adults 18-49.

Chris Isaacson Presents has announced a one-night-only concert event at the John Anson Ford Amphitheatre on Saturday, August 16 at 8pm. Broadway Under the Stars will star Tony Award-winner Jennifer Holliday (Dreamgirls) and will also feature (in alphabetical order) Obba Babatunde (Dreamgirls), Erich Bergen (Jersey Boys, stage and film), Rogelio Douglas, Jr. (In the Heights), Danny Gurwin (Little Women) and Tony Award-nominee Chad Kimball (Memphis). David Galligan will direct, and the music director is Gerald Sternbach.

DTF opens its 39th Summer Season New Play Reading series with a new play by local favorite Theresa Rebeck. The play, Zealot, is a finalist for the Susan Blackburn Prize and is set at the British consulate in Mecca, where a tactical tea is interrupted by news of nearby violence. When a witness seeks asylum, a diplomatic battle of wits ensues, while a life hangs in the balance. The reading will star renowned actress Alfre Woodard and will be directed by award winning director John Doyle.
