The Stratford Festival comes to CBC-TV this September with spectacular performances of KING LEAR, ANTONY AND CLEOPATRA and KING JOHN, captured live in HD and presented uninterrupted. These productions are the first in the Stratford Festival HD initiative, which will see all of Shakespeare's plays filmed over the next 10 years, making them available to audiences nationwide and around the world.
Andy Pringle, Chair of the Board of Governors, is pleased to announce the appointment of Tim Carroll as the next Artistic Director of the Shaw Festival. As Artistic Director Designate, Carroll will work with current Artistic Director Jackie Maxwell during the 2016 season to familiarize himself with the complex workings of The Shaw and plan his first season. He will officially take the helm of the Shaw Festival on December 1, 2016 at the start of the 2017 season.

Shakespeare's Globe and Sonia Friedman Productions are delighted to announce the West End transfer of Claire van Kampen's critically-acclaimed new play Farinelli and the King, directed by John Dove, designed by Jonathan Fensom and starring Mark Rylance (Wolf Hall, Jerusalem, Richard III, Twelfth Night), as King Philippe V of Spain. Sam Crane will once again play the acting role of Farinelli, while the singing role will be reprised by opera star, Iestyn Davies and shared withRupert Enticknap. The rest of the cast will also transfer with Huss Garbiya playing Doctor Jose Cervi, Melody Grove playing Isabella Farnese, Colin Hurley as Metastasio and Edward Peel as De la Cuadra.

Led by Hennepin Theatre Trust and Joan Vorderbruggen, the Trust's Cultural District Arts Coordinator, Made Here is the largest storefront window initiative in the country. Brilliance! lights up the downtown Minneapolis Cultural District during an unveiling and free public launch from 6-7:30 p.m. on the Today after Thanksgiving, November 28. Festivities will begin at Marin Restaurant and Bar, located at 901 Hennepin Avenue, and lead into guided walking tours of the window galleries at 6 and 7 p.m. The launch also coincides with the opening of the Holidazzle Village featuring the Minneapolis Christmas Market in Peavey Plaza. Lovers of Shakespeare are in for a real treat when Shakespeare's Globe Theatre brings its all-male Original Practices production of Twelfth Night to local cinemas beginning September 22. Starring award-winning actors Mark Rylance as Olivia and Stephen Fry as Malvolio, the film gives audiences an exclusive opportunity to see this unique performance from the Globe Theatre in London.
