Mastodon guitarist Brent Hinds is gearing up for the release of his sophomore album with side-project West End Motel. Due October 30 on Warner Bros Records, Only Time Can Tell is the highly-anticipated follow-up to Hinds' acclaimed 2011 debut Don't Shiver, You're A Winner which SPIN dubbed 'a welcome departure from Mastodon's thrashy, progged-out fare...sounds like Tom Waits and Tim Burton co-hosting the creepiest vaudeville show ever,' and Pitchfork lauded for its 'playfulness and off-the-cuff amiability.'

The Public Theater announced today that Public Theater alumna and Academy Award nominee Anne Hathaway, who played Viola in the critically acclaimed 2009 Shakespeare in the Park production of Twelfth Night, will perform a one-night-only concert, Perfectly Marvelous: The Songs of Cabaret with Anne Hathaway and Friends, on Wednesday, October 24 at 7 p.m. at Joe's Pub to celebrate and support The Public Theater's revitalization of its downtown home at Astor Place. Member tickets on sale now. Single tickets go on sale on Tuesday, October 2.

From creative genius Tim Burton (Alice in Wonderland, The Nightmare Before Christmas) comes Frankenweenie, a heartwarming tale about a boy and his dog. After unexpectedly losing his beloved dog Sparky, young Victor harnesses the power of science to bring his best friend back to life--with just a few minor adjustments. He tries to hide his home-sewn creation, but when Sparky gets out, Victor's fellow students, teachers and the entire town all learn that getting a new 'leash on life' can be monstrous.

Sweeney Todd, with Music and Lyrics by Stephen Sondheim and Book by Hugh Wheeler, is directed by Steven Glaudini with musical direction and conducting by Elan McMahan at Moonlight Stage Productions' Moonlight Amphitheatre, now through October 6th. Check out a photo of the cast below!

The 16th Annual Hollywood Film Awards, presented by the Los Angeles Times, announce that Academy Award winning actress Marion Cotillard will receive the 'Hollywood Actress Award' for her distinguished performance in Jacques Audiard's 'Rust and Bone,' a Sony Pictures Classics release, at the Hollywood Film Awards Gala ceremony on October 22.

Tony Award-winner Scarlett Johansson returns to Broadway to star as Maggie, with Ciaran Hinds as Big Daddy, Benjamin Walker as Brick and Tony and Emmy Award-winner Debra Monk as Big Mama in Tennessee Williams' Pulitzer Prize-winning classic CAT ON A HOT TIN ROOF. Directed by Tony and Emmy Award-winner Rob Ashford, CAT ON A HOT TIN ROOF will begin preview performances Tuesday, December 18 at the Richard Rodgers Theatre (226 West 46th Street). Opening night is Thursday, January 17.

BIG FISH, a new musical based on the novel by Daniel Wallace and the 2003 Columbia Pictures film written by John August, will star Norbert Leo Butz as Edward Bloom, and have its pre-Broadway world premiere at Chicago's Oriental Theatre (24 West Randolph Street) in a limited 5-week engagement beginning performances Tuesday, April 2, 2013, and playing through Sunday, May 5, 2013.

The 60th edition of the San Sebastian Festival will this year bestow its Donostia Awards on actors John Travolta, Ewan McGregor and Tommy Lee Jones and the Special 60th Anniversary Donostia Award going to director Oliver Stone. In 1969, Jones made his Broadway debut in John Osborne's A Patriot for Me. His other Broadway appearances include Four on a Garden and Ulysses in Nighttown.

Focus Features' animated comedy thriller ParaNorman gets its nationwide release by Focus today, Friday, August 17th, 2012. Following LAIKA and Focus' groundbreaking Academy Award-nominated animated feature Coraline, ParaNorman is only the second stop-motion animated feature to be made in 3D. Jon Brion created the score for the film.

The Los Angeles County Museum of Art (LACMA) and the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences (The Academy) are pleased to co-present the first U.S. retrospective of filmmaker Stanley Kubrick, developed in collaboration with the Kubrick Estate and the Deutsches Filmmuseum, Frankfurt.

The Muny presents the seventh and final show of its 94th season, The King and I, now through August 12, directed by Rob Ruggiero and choreographed by Ralph Perkins. Kevin Gray, playing The King of Siam, returns to The Muny after previously playing the Engineer in Miss Saigon (2001). Making her Muny debut as Anna Leonowens is Laura Michelle Kelly. The Dark Shadows Weekend 2012 was held this year in Tarrytown, NY on July 28 & 29, 2012. The weekend of events included Dark Shadows Day At Collinwood. This was held on Saturday July 28 at the historic Lyndhurst Estate. This is the site used for the filming of the two Dark Shadows movies based on the original TV series-House of Dark Shadows and Night of Dark Shadows. Both of these movies are to be re-released in the fall on DVD and Blue Ray in conjunction with the release of the Tim Burton/Johnny Depp movie of this year's-Dark Shadows.
