Photo Flash: Artwork Revealed for 19th Annual Broadway Barks!

Broadway Barks co-founder Bernadette Peters will be joined by her Mozart in the Jungle co-star, Malcolm McDowell, to co-host the 19th annual dog & cat adoption event with her on July 8, 2017. Below, check out the just-released artwork for the event, created by Malcom's wife, Kelley McDowell.

GAYS AGAINST GUNS Fund Raising Show Announced

Queer gun control activists Gays Against Guns are producing a fundraiser with downtown burlesque, comedy, and musical performers at NYC's legendary Slipper Room on June 7, 2017, 8-9:30 PM to finance current and future actions and campaigns against the gun lobby, including GAG's work on Federal Concealed Carry Reciprocity and Gun Violence as a Public Health Crisis.

Original Comedy Play WILDCARDS to Hit 124 Bank Street Theatre

124 Bank Street Theatre will be home to the fun, original comedy, Wildcards. Written by Veronica Mullin and directed by Emily Briggs, Wildcards is an independent production that will run at the Bank Street Theatre's main stage the last weekend in May, 2017, with a Press Performance on Thursday, May 25th at 8pm and Opening Night Performance on Friday, May 26th at 8pm.

BWW Interview: Lance Horne On His Current Residency at Joe's Pub, His Iconic Collaborators and Trying to Recruit Neve Campbell

Lance Horne is developing new music based on acclaimed author Neil Gaiman's love poems to his wife, Amanda Palmer, is working on a top-secret project with Scissor Sisters' Jake Shears and continues to work with his 'musical husband,' Alan Cumming. And, if all of that weren't enough, the Emmy-winning composer (ONE LIFE TO LIVE), lyricist and performer has also returned to Joe's Pub for the 2016-2017 season. Having performed at the venue since it first opened its doors in 1998, Horne is currently undertaking a four-part residency of new material---aptly titled NEW WORK, NEW WORK---for which he's been joined by many of his famous friends. Ahead of the residency's penultimate installment, NEW WORK NEW WORK 3, on April 12 at 7pm, we spoke with Horne by phone about his innumerable collaborators, his history with Joe's and the stars he's still working on teaming up with.

Taylor Mac to Receive 2017 Booth Award

Join us for an evening celebrating the groundbreaking work of Taylor Mac, American actor, playwright, performance artist, director, producer, and singer-songwriter. Mac's 24-hour, 246-song marathon performance, A 24-Decade History of Popular Music, was hailed by Wesley Morris in the New York Times as "one of the greatest experiences of my life" and was recently named the 2017 recipient of the Edward M. 10HL Dance Company Returns to New Brunswick for 5th Season

10 Hairy Legs returns to New Brunswick for its fifth consecutive season at a new location. Tickets for the weeknight show are $25 General Admission/Students at the Door and $20 for Artists, Students in Advance and Groups of 10 or more.  Tickets: 10HL.org. The performance features the New Jersey Premieres of 10HL 2016 Commissions by Doug Varone and Megan Williams, a Preview of a new Commission by New Jersey native Al Blackstone, and a new work choreographed by Artistic Director Randy James.
