The producers of the critically acclaimed Off-Broadway production of' Thornton Wilder's Our Town, have announced that Obie Award-winner Jason Butler Harner will assume the central role of 'Stage Manager' in David Cromer's staging of Wilder's timeless play. Beginning Tuesday, August 25th, Mr. Harner will succeed Mr. Cromer who departs the company to begin rehearsals for his Broadway directorial debut this fall with Neil Simon's Brighton Beach Memoirs and Broadway Bound.

Westport Country Playhouse will present a Sunday Symposium titled, '?That Championship Season': Rediscovering an American Classic,' following the Sunday, August 30, 3 p.m. matinee performance of 'That Championship Season.' Guest speaker will be Bernard Gersten, executive producer of Lincoln Center Theater and former associate producer of The Public Theater in New York (1960 - 1978), in which capacity he was the associate producer of the original production of 'That Championship Season.'

Lincoln Center Theater (under the direction of Andre Bishop, Artistic Director, and Bernard Gersten, Executive Producer) by arrangement with Jean Doumanian and Freddy DeMann will produce the American premiere of WHEN THE RAIN STOPS FALLING, a new play by Andrew Bovell, directed by David Cromer. Previews begin at the Mitzi E. Newhouse Theater (150 W. 65 Street) on Thursday, February 11. Opening night is Monday, March 8.

Westport Country Playhouse will celebrate its 80th anniversary in 2010, staging a season of five productions including musicals, comedy and drama at the historic theater in Westport, Connecticut. 2010 will be the first official season of artistic programming by Mark Lamos, who was appointed Playhouse artistic director in February 2009.

Westport Country Playhouse will reunite six audience favorites---playwright Alan Ayckbourn, director John Tillinger, and cast members Paxton Whitehead, Cecilia Hart, Geneva Carr and Carson Elrod---in the classic comedy, 'How the Other Half Loves,' playing July 28 through August 15. Over the past two seasons, the popular team brought to the Playhouse the smash hit comedies 'Time of My Life' and 'Relatively Speaking.' Darren Pettie and Karen Walsh will round out the cast of 'How the Other Half Loves.'

Casting is announced for 'That Championship Season' at Westport Country Playhouse, the first production to be directed by Mark Lamos since he was named artistic director in February 2009 at the historic theater in Westport, Connecticut.
