The production runs from Feb. 17-21 and Feb. 25-28, in the Emerson Studio Theatre, 130 Edgar Road. Curtain time is 7:30 p.m., except Sundays, which will have 2 p.m. matinees only. Admission is $12 for the general public and $6 for senior adults and students. For ticket reservations, call the Fine Arts Hotline at 968-7128.
Set in 1890s Vienna, "On the Razzle" is a fast-paced farce that involves the proprietor of an upscale grocery store who travels to Vienna to set the date for his wedding. While their boss is away in Vienna, the head clerk and his apprentice decide to go "on the razzle" in search of adventure in the big city. The two clerks get tangled up in one adventure after another while in Vienna, as their boss pops up everywhere they go. From the brilliant mind of Tom Stoppard, this adaptation uses the same source material that Thornton Wilder adapted for "The Matchmaker" and it's musical offspring, "Hello, Dolly!"
On the Razzle is directed by Doug Finlayson, head of the directing program at Webster University's Conservatory of Fine Arts.
