Adam Szymkowicz has been carving a niche for himself among our best young crop of comedy writers, describing love affairs of many kinds with an admirable simplicity. His latest work, 'The Why Overhead,' will have its premiere run tonight, September 6 to 23, presented by Zootopia Theatre Company at Access Theater, 380 Broadway. The piece imagines what happens in the office while the boss is away. Matthew J. Nichols directs a cast of 12, which includes Susan Louise O'Connor, a Theatre World Award winner for 'Blythe Spirit' on Broadway. Get a first look at the production in the photos below!

The 60th edition of the San Sebastian Festival will this year bestow its Donostia Awards on actors John Travolta, Ewan McGregor and Tommy Lee Jones and the Special 60th Anniversary Donostia Award going to director Oliver Stone. In 1969, Jones made his Broadway debut in John Osborne's A Patriot for Me. His other Broadway appearances include Four on a Garden and Ulysses in Nighttown.

'Randy Cunningham: 9th Grade Ninja,' an action-packed, animated comedy series that follows the adventures of an unlikely hero who, with his super human ninja suit, the 'NinjaNomicon' (an 800 year-old Ninja guide) and the help of his best buddy Howard, finds himself as the one thing protecting his school and the world from certain destruction, is set to premiere on Disney XD. A special preview will air tonight, August 13 (9:00 p.m., ET/PT) with the series premiere on MONDAY, SEPTEMBER 17 (7:00 p.m., ET/PT). New episodes will premiere Monday through Thursday (7:00 p.m., ET/PT).

The 2012 Olivier Awards take place on Sunday - and so as always we asked some of our favourite theatre types for their tips to win!

CMT's newest original movie, WHISKEY BUSINESS starring Pauly Shore, will premiere Sunday, March 25 at 7:00 p.m., ET/PT on CMT. John Schneider and Tanya Tucker co-star, and the movie also features Cynthia Preston, Brad Borbridge, and Nick Mancuso.

Matilda the Musical, produced by the RSC and running at the Cambridge Theatre, leads the way with ten nominations - the maximum number of eligible awards for a musical this year. These notably include a collective nomination for Best Actress for all four young actresses who play the title role. Amongst other musical theatre productions Ghost The Musical at the Piccadilly Theatre and the National Theatre's London Road have five and four nominations respectively.

On Monday, March 12, 2012, New York Theatre Barn will present NYTB in the D-Lounge, a monthly concert for emerging musical theatre writers (now in its 5th year), at the Daryl Roth Theatre.
