Maritz, in collaboration with the Arts and Education Council, announced today that it has awarded $30,000 in grants to eight arts education projects in the St. Louis bi-state area through the award-winning Maritz Arts and Education Fund for Teachers. Maritz and the Arts and Education Council partner to offer this unique funding opportunity to individual schools and nonprofit organizations to support projects and opportunities that encourage creativity in the classroom; the grants are administered by the Arts and Education Council and supported by Maritz. The distinctive funding program enables teachers to apply directly for a grant. Awards are granted at the beginning of the school year.

The Segal Centre will swing into its 2013-2014 Theatre Season with the Tony Award-winning musical Ain't Misbehavin', The Fats Waller Musical Show, conceived by Richard Maltby Jr. and Murray Horwitz. Presented in Montreal for the first time in over twenty years, this classic jazz-age musical revue is revived at the Segal Centre under the direction of Roger Peace and featuring a stellar cast led by Kim Richardson and Toya Alexis. In co-production with Copa de Oro Productions and sponsored by KPMG, Ain't Misbehavin' runs from tonight, September 29th to October 20th, 2013 in the Segal Theatre.

The 2013 - 2014 season includes the Chicago premiere of the new musical farce Double Trouble, August 31 - October 6; the "Fats" Waller revue Ain't Misbehavin', February 1 - March 9, 2014, the Broadway classic How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying, April 26 - June 1, 2014 and a new "Lost Musicals" series Porchlight Revisits... taking audiences to a particular time and place in Broadway musical history.
