As previously announced, the 2014 Lilly Award winners include Kristen Anderson-Lopez, Susan Bernfield, Johanna Day, Winnie Holzman, Joyce Ketay, Mary Mitchell Campbell, Rebecca Naomi Jones, Dominique Morrisseau, Kelli O'Hara, Jen Silverman, Jeanine Tesori and Liesl Tommy. When a student pays $5000 for a ten-week educational seminar, s/he doesn't expect to be verbally attacked, viciously belittled, diminished, called names, and have a sexual liaison with the instructor. But that's exactly what happens in Pulitzer Prize nominee Theresa Rebeck's provocative comedy, 'Seminar,' now on stage at Beck Center.

Beck Center for the Arts will present the regional premiere of Seminar, today, May 30 through June 29, 2014 in the intimate Studio Theater. Show times are 8 p.m. Todays and Saturdays and 3 p.m. Sundays. Tickets are now on sale. This production is recommended for mature audiences ages 17 and older.

This year the Lilly Awards will celebrate women of distinction in musical theater in a special cabaret at West Bank Cafe (407 W 42nd Street, NYC), following the awards ceremony, which is set for Monday, June 2, at Playwrights Horizons. The cabaret will feature Kelli O'Hara, Rebecca Naomi Jones, Rebecca Luker, Kate Baldwin, Kenita Miller, The Broadway Boys, Graham Rowat, Katie Thompson, Lauren Pritchard, Taylor Noble, Jay Armstrong Jonson, The Skivvies (Lauren Molina & Nick Cearley) and Jason Robert Brown.

The Understudy, written by Theresa Rebeck and directed by Jenn Haltman, runs at The Secret Theatre (44-02 23rd St New York, NY 11101) beginning tomorrow night, May 28, and running through June 1, 2014.

DTF opens its 39th Summer Season New Play Reading series with a new play by local favorite Theresa Rebeck. The play, Zealot, is a finalist for the Susan Blackburn Prize and is set at the British consulate in Mecca, where a tactical tea is interrupted by news of nearby violence. When a witness seeks asylum, a diplomatic battle of wits ensues, while a life hangs in the balance. The reading will star renowned actress Alfre Woodard and will be directed by award winning director John Doyle.

Bay Street Theatre presents the World Premiere of CONVICTION (Today, May 27-June 15) by Carey Crim and directed by Scott Schwartz, Bay Street's new Artistic Director. The production is co-produced by Bay Street Theatre, Rubicon Theatre in California, Dead Posh Productions, London and Canada's Royal Manitoba Theatre Centre.

The "Alley Theatre @ UH" season begins with Elizabeth Ashley and Hallie Foote in the southwestern premiere of Horton Foote's wonderfully entertaining The Old Friends, directed byMichael Wilson. Alley Resident Actors Jay Sullivan, James Black, and Jeffrey Bean, and returning artist Jeremy Webb lead the cast of Dracula, the Original Vampire Play, a production that will include the iconic designs by Edward Gorey, directed by Artistic Director Gregory Boyd. Boyd also directsShakespeare's romantic comedy As You Like It featuring Alley Resident Actors Elizabeth Bunch, Chris Hutchison and Todd Waite. Resident Actor James Black and Josie de Guzman lead the cast in Arthur Miller's All My Sons, directed by renowned playwright Theresa Rebeck. The Southwestern debut of Britain's innovative and exciting theatre company Kneehigh follows, with an inventive and imaginative production of Tristan & Yseult, based on the Arthurian romance. Resident Actor Jeffrey Bean returns to a favorite role in the riotous tour de force The Foreigner.

New York Stage and Film and Vassar College, this summer celebrating the 30th year of their Powerhouse Theater collaboration, are thrilled to reveal the first round of casting for the upcoming Powerhouse Theater Season, running from June 20 to July 27 at Vassar College (Poughkeepsie, New York).

It is my great pleasure to announce that the eighth season of Roundabout Underground will launch with Little Children Dream of God, written by Jeff Augustin and directed by Giovanna Sardelli. The world premiere production will open in February of 2015 at the Black Box Theatre. I am also pleased to announce that Jeff is Roundabout's first Playwright-in-Residence, a position generously supported by the Tow Foundation.

Roundabout Theatre Company has announced the next Roundabout Underground production Little Children Dream of God, a new play by Jeff Augustin, directed by Giovanna Sardelli. The cast and creative team will be announced shortly. Jeff Augustin is Roundabout's Playwright-in-Residence, generously supported by The Tow Foundation.

The Dorset Theatre Festival is up and running with its 7th Annual Writers Retreat hosted by Theresa Rebeck in collaboration with The Lark New Play Development Center. Each spring, accomplished writers from across the country are invited to the quaint village of Dorset, where they spend their days writing, their evenings reading new pages, discussing each other's work and generally sharing the process of growing new plays. The Retreat's mission is to support top playwrights, giving them time and space away from their day to day career pressures to concentrate completely on process while getting input from peers and in particular from playwright Theresa Rebeck, who hosts the retreat each spring. "It is exciting how many of our writers began plays at the retreat that have gone on to productions at some of the top theaters across the country. DTF is truly making its mark on the national landscape and that is a dream come true for me personally," says Dina Janis, Artistic Director of DTF.

Magic Theatre is delighted to celebrate the return of Magic's 2011 Playwright in Residence, Christina Anderson, with the world premiere of PEN/MAN/SHIP. The production is directed by Magic Theatre's Associate Artistic Director Ryan Guzzo Purcell and will run today, May 21 - June 15, 2014 at Magic Theatre, Fort Mason Center, Building D, 3rd Floor. South Coast Repertory's 2014-15 season moves from the Mediterranean island in Shakespeare's The Tempest to Cornwall in a new take on the classic Tristan & Yseult, from Mecca in Zealot by Theresa Rebeck to an updated look at the Land of Oz in OZ 2.5 by Catherine Trieschmann. SCR will present classic, contemporary and new works, including Mr. Wolf by Rajiv Joseph, Of Good Stock by Melissa Ross and Peter and the Starcatcher by Rick Elice. Season subscriptions are available now; single tickets will go on sale on Aug. 1.
