Despite being completely busy preparing for the concert staging of A TOUCH OF VENUS, Paul Hope, Artistic Director and Founder of Bayou City Concert Musicals, took a break from his busy schedule to talk to me about his innovative and charitable organization. Since it's inception, Bayou City Concert Musicals has been providing Houston audiences with well-produced and lauded performances of often-neglected musicals. Continuing to grow an ever-increasing loyal audience and fan following, I asked Paul Hope to tell me more about Bayou City Concert Musicals and the shows they choose to produce.

Marc Camoletti wrote 40 plays, which have been translated into 18 languages and produced professionally in 55 countries. His most successful play, Boeing-Boeing, ran for 19 years in Paris. There have been 14 film and television adaptations of his plays, including the 1965 film version of Boeing Boeing starring Jerry Lewis, Tony Curtis, and Thelma Ritter. Camoletti directed 1 movie, a 1979 adaptation of his play Duos sur canape. It's estimated that 20 million people have seen his plays live and 500 million people have seen a recorded version.

One of Orange County, California's newest theater companies, 3D Theatricals, will present HELLO, DOLLY! from July 9 through August 1 at the gorgeous O.C. Pavilion Theatre in the Arts District of downtown Santa Ana. Starring as the matchmaker Dolly Levi will be Broadway veteran (and Los Angeles-area theater favorite) Ruth Williamson.
