Euan Morton to Make 54 Below Debut, 12/12

54 BELOW, Broadway's Supper Club, presents Tony nominee Euan Morton, making his debut at the acclaimed Manhattan nightspot, on Thursday, December 12th, 2013. Show time is 9:30 PM; doors will open at 8:45 PM. Backed by Grandpa Musselman & His Syncopators, Morton, will perform repertoire of turn of the century ragtime, 1920?s jazz and depression era swing by composers such as Scott Joplin, Jelly Roll Morton and Duke Ellington. WELCOME HOME SONNY T Opens Tonight at Theater for the New City

In a neighborhood torn by gun violence between black and Mexican youth, a prominent black minister, haunted by the ghosts of his struggles as a 60's radical, faces his own impotence to restore order in 'Welcome Home Sonny T,' a new play written and directed by William Electric Black. Theater for the New City, 155 First Ave., will present the work tonight, December 5 to 22, 2013.

Longtime songwriting team MARCY HEISLER (Author/Lyricist) and ZINA GOLDRICH (Composer) are set to make their 2014 Broadway debut with EVER AFTER, directed by Kathleen Marshall and produced by Kevin McCollum, Scott Landis and Philip Morgaman. They were the first women ever honored with the Fred Ebb Award for Musical Theatre Songwriting, and Heisler was awarded the 2012 Kleban Prize for Outstanding Lyrics.

Tony-Winning MEMPHIS Headed to West End in 2014?

When the Tony-winning MEMPHIS closed on Broadway in 2012, producers announced that a West End production was coming soon. According to the UK Daily Mail, soon could be in 2014, at the Shaftesbury Theatre in London's West End, following a scheduled run of THE PAJAMA GAME.

Rubicon Hosts HOLIDAY CENTRAL with 35 Seasonal Shows, Now thru 12/23

Move over Grinch; Santa Claus is coming to town and taking up residence at Rubicon Theatre in Ventura! Rubicon's November/ December HOLIDAY CENTRAL calendar offers a sparkling array of more than 35 shows and events for all ages. The festivities begin with the return of a holiday revue with six Broadway singers and a local children's chorus; followed by a late-night adult comedy presented in a cabaret setting; a poetic reading of wartime love letters; and culminating with an enchanting new musical from the Tony and Olivier Award-winning director of Les Miserables and Nicholas Nickleby and the creators of Jane Eyre and Daddy Long Legs, who will have a five-week residency at Rubicon during the holidays.

Registration Now Open for TheatreWorks New Milford's Kids Winter Programs

TheatreWorks' Kids registration is now open for an exciting NEW program for kids ages 4 to 7. The program entitled INTRODUCTION TO MUSICAL THEATER begins on Saturday January 4 at 10:00 am. Each weekly class is 90 minutes long, and i nstructor Amy Emke will use in drama, music and dance activities to teach to basic concepts of live performance, in addition to activities that develop listening and cooperation skills . Classes will include learning a song and dance routine from a Broadway Show, and will culminate in a performance for parents and friends. Tuition is $ 150.00 .

It's Official! Sutton Foster to Return to Broadway in VIOLET; Show Set for Limited Run at American Airlines Theatre Starting in Late March

It's Official! Sutton Foster is coming BACK to Broadway, as Roundabout Theatre Company has just announced that it will present two-time Tony Award winner Sutton Foster in a Broadway production of VIOLET (first seen as part of Encores! Off-Center concert series in 2013), directed by Leigh Silverman. Based on the short story 'The Ugliest Pilgrim' by Doris Betts, VIOLET features music by Jeanine Tesori and book & lyrics by Brian Crawley. VIOLET will be produced in association with Amy Sherman-Palladino and Daniel Palladino, David Mirvish, Barry and Fran Weissler, Elizabeth Armstrong, and Mary Jo and Ted Shen.

Fiddlehead Theatre to Host Talkbacks with Andrew Lippa & Brian Cawley During A LITTLE PRINCESS RUN

Fiddlehead Theatre Company announces two talkbacks during the run of A Little Princess, Fiddlehead's first production as Resident Company at Boston's historic Strand Theatre (543 Columbia Road, Dorchester, MA). A Little Princess will run from November 21 -December 8, 2013, and will feature two appearances by the creative team behind A Little Princess: Composer Andrew Lippa will provide a talkback on Friday, November 29 hosted by WGBH's Jared Bowen, and playwright Brian Crawley will take the stage on Friday, December 6. Both sessions are free for ticket-holders, who are invited to stay after the performance to participate in an audience Q&A. These events are perfect for theater students, educators, drama departments, and fans of musical theater.
