The Other Theatre Company, now rebranded as "Other Theatre," is pleased to announce its 4th season, kicking off this fall with the world premiere of Martin Zimmerman's comedic graphic novel for the stage THE MAKING OF A MODERN FOLK HERO, presented in association with Chicago Dramatists Grafting Project and directed by Kelly Howe.
Lookingglass Theatre Company concludes its 29th Season with its award-winning production of Moby Dick, adapted and directed by Ensemble Member David Catlin, from the book by Herman Melville, in association with The Actors Gymnasium. Moby Dick runs June 7 - September 3, 2017 at Lookingglass Theatre Company, located inside Chicago's historic Water Tower Water Works, 821 N. Michigan Ave. at Pearson. The Press Opening is Saturday, June 17, 2017 at 7:30 p.m.

Closing out their wonderful 47th Season, Theatre Three offers a first-rate showing of the musical Saturday Night Fever. Based on the iconic 1977 movie and a story by Nik Cohn, this entertaining production, featuring songs by the Bee Gees, runs through June 24th at the charming Port Jefferson venue. This officially opened a few weeks ago and judging by the enthusiastic and still-packed house, you will certainly need to get your tickets quickly.
You should be dancing! SATURDAY NIGHT FEVER is the iconic story of Tony Manero, the kid from Brooklyn, who wants to dance his way to a better life.
Opening night at Theatre Three's A LITTLE NIGHT MUSIC got off to a slow start, due to the late arrival of one of the theatre technicians. The show itself followed suit, starting off slow, but finding its stride as the evening continued, and ultimately ending in a heartwarming finale. While it may not be everyone's cup of tea, this production is strong and well worth seeing.
Second Thought Theatre closes its 2017 season of change with the world premiere of The Necessities by Dallas-based playwright and artist Blake Hackler. Joel Ferrell, Associate Artistic Director for the Dallas Theater Center, returns to direct after previously directing Othello and Gruesome Playground Injuries for the company.
In a new production commissioned by the Finborough Theatre and continuing their rediscovery of James Bridie, one of the West End's most successful dramatists of the 1930s and 1940s, the first London production since its 1950 premiere of Mr Gillie runs at the Finborough Theatre, playing Sunday and Monday evenings and Tuesday matinees from Sunday, 25 June 2017 (Press Night: Monday, 26 June 2017 at 7.30pm).

A graduate of The College of Santa Fe with Masters work at The University of Kansas, Rolanda is the product of an innovative arts based curriculum from Arts Magnet High School at Booker T Washington in Dallas Texas. Rolanda has worked developing and implementing arts based curriculum in Chicago with Gallery 37, Truman Middle College High School, The Chicago Theatre Company, Pegasus Players, Cornell Interventions, Beacon Street Gallery/Youthnet and Master Artist Program, Urban Gateways, Catholic Charities, Sullivan House Group Home, Chicago's Juvenile Justice Systems' Healy and Smart Programs, LEAP (Lakeview Educational Arts Program) and with numerous high schools and elementary schools through the Chicago area.

City Lit Theatre Artistic Director Terry McCabe has announced the cast for the company's season finale, the British comedy London Assurance. First produced in London in 1841 at the Theatre Royal, Covent Garden, and shortly thereafter in New York City, London Assurance is considered a transitional play between the 18th century comedies of Richard Brinsley Sheridan and Oliver Goldsmith and the late 19th Century plays of Oscar Wilde. It has been one of Great Britain's most popular comedies of the standard classical repertoire and in recent decades has been performed by some of Britain's leading actors.
