Queens-based Rude Grooms will mount a limited Halloween engagement of the rarely seen 1621 play The Witch of Edmonton in partnership with The Astorian and Long Island City Artists. The play was written by William Rowley, Thomas Dekker, and John Ford and will be led by actor-manager Kate Pitt (The Way of the World at the Folger Theatre, Rude Grooms' Much Ado About Nothing) and associate produced by Emma Montoya Hills (Associate General Manager, HERE Arts Center). The production will play the Plaxall Gallery on October 28th at 7:30pm and The Astorian on Halloween, October 31, at 7:30pm. Reservations are strongly encouraged and can be made at rudegrooms.com.

After a months-long internal search, the Board of Directors of Florida Repertory Theatre is pleased to announce the selection of founding company member Greg Longenhagen as the organization's new Artistic Director. Greg is currently an Assistant Professor of Theatre at Florida Gulf Coast University and the President, Owner, CEO, and Senior Creative Director of Abbott Productions in Fort Myers. Cikgu Disiplin Sekolah Aku is a collaboration piece written by Khairunazwan Rodzy and Khairi Anwar. Directed by Theatre Three Sixty's Christopher Ling, the play sets out to shed some light on a school systems actions towards achieving the title of Sekolah Kluster Cemerlang. Along the quest to perfection and performance, the play also highlights the struggles of its students, Daniel played by Andy Phoon and Pak Kob played by Aminul Syakir, as they are forced to succumb to the ridiculous sentences that are put on them should they not live up to school standards.
