Councilman Ulrich To Announce New Partnership Providing Veterans Admission To Broadway Shows At No Cost

Councilman Eric Ulrich, Chair of the Veterans Committee, has partnered with TDF (Theatre Development Fund) to launch a new pilot program, TDF Veterans Theatregoing Program, which will provide admission, at no cost, to New York City's former servicemen and women of all ages who have served in any branch of the armed forces. Thanks to funding from Ulrich, TDF will offer a limited number of free tickets to Broadway shows, which will be distributed through partnering veteran groups.

Roundabout's Entire Theatrical Workforce Development Program Cohort Lands Jobs

Roundabout Theatre Company and Education at Roundabout have announced a 100% job placement rate for the first cohort of the Theatrical Workforce Development Program (TWDP), the theatre industry's first workforce development program to train and place young adults in professional technical theatre careers.

Local Teacher Presented with Broadway League Apple Award

On Tuesday, December 5, 2017, local teacher Jason Ford was presented with the national 2017 League Educator Apple Award at Francis Parker School #23 by Rachel Reiner, Director of Audience Engagement at The Broadway League, based in NYC. Now in its fifteenth year, the award acknowledges the efforts of local teachers and advocates who support programs relating to Broadway or Touring Broadway shows, promoting further development of theatre education. Jason accepted the award amongst an audience of students and peers who cheered in support of his achievement.

The holidays are a perfect time to see a show. Broadway performs every day of the week at multiple curtain times to accommodate every schedule, including holidays. During Thanksgiving and Christmas weeks, some shows are changing their performance schedules.

Melodic Caring Project to Bring Disney's ALADDIN to Children in Local Hospitals

Seattle Theatre Group (STG) is one of 10 presenters in the U.S. to receive a 2017 National Education and Engagement Grant from the Broadway League. With the funding, STG is partnering with Melodic Caring Project (MCP) and Disney Theatrical Productions to share the artistry and joy of the hit Broadway musical Aladdin with children in local hospitals.
