SOMEONEPLEASELISTENANDUNDERSTAND (they're wiretapping our brains) Comes to The Brick

In an observation room deep beneath the Capital, a new surveillance program launches to discover threats to the American people. Secret agents hack phones, computers, sex cams, security feeds, and even minds in the name of homeland security. Functioning as a series of pre-recorded episodes as well as a live performance, agents switch between different streams spying on flagged citizens who are struggling with forming their identities amidst a sea of technological, governmental, and societal restrictions.

Casting Announced for New FEATHERS: A PLAYWRIGHT READING SERIES

Theater Mitu's JUAREZ Explores Stories of the US/Mexico Border at The LATC

Internationally renowned, New York City-based experimental theater company Theater Mitu explores the history, contradictions and mythology of the ever-complicated landscape of the US/Mexico border in a uniquely theatrical multi-media event. Led by Juarez born-and-raised artistic director Ruben Polendo, the company brings Juarez: A Documentary Mythology to The Los Angeles Theatre Center as part of the Latino Theater Company's 30th anniversary season. The limited 3-week engagement takes place Oct. 27 through Nov. 13.

Noor Theatre to Tackle Current Events in 48 HOUR FORUM

Noor Theatre is New York's only theatre representing voices of the Middle Eastern diaspora. They are often asked to respond to the barrage of news related to the Middle East and beyond. Often, news breaks and it is several years before we see something on stage about it. Such is the nature of theatre making.

On Site Opera Presents Giovanni Paisiello's THE BARBER OF SEVILLE, 6/9-13

This summer, On Site Opera(OSO) will present a new production that exemplifies the company's mission to stage operas in non-traditional locations ideally suited to the stories they tell. OSO will offer an immersive site-specific staging of Giovanni Paisiello's The Barber of Seville at the opulent Fabbri Mansion (House of the Redeemer) on New York City's Upper East Side. Conducted by the company's newly appointed Music Director,Geoffrey McDonald and directed by OSO's Co-Founder and Artistic Director, Eric Einhorn, the production will be updated to the early decades of the twentieth century (when the Fabbri Mansion was built) and staged in themansion's outdoor courtyard and library.
