TriArts Sharon Playhouse, under the leadership of Artistic Director John Simpkins and Managing Director Justin Ball, has announced initial casting for its 25th Anniversary Season with the musicals LES MISERABLES, Falsettos, and Disney's The Little Mermaidon the Mainstage. Mitch Albom's Tuesdays with Morrie and the new musical Nine Wives (by Douglas J. Cohen and Dan Elish) will play Stage 2 in the Bok Gallery. The Youth Theatre will present the Tony-winning Spring Awakening.

Busy rehearsing for the last number of weeks, members of Roscommon County Youth Theatre ranging in age from 14 to 22 present one of their most challenging productions to date at Roscommon Arts Centre tonight, 30th and Friday 31st January, 8pm. Following on from the success of Shannonside Arts & Entertainment Award for The Railway Children by John E Nesbit, RCYT are back for their 14th year with 'RISK', a production to keep you on the edge of your seats.

The PSC Youth Theatre called "Acting Out" (fully supported by the PSC Community Theatre) will be presenting a series of skits called Life & Miscommunication On, Saturday, January 25th at 3pm. (It includes young actors from both the Junior and Senior programs and is scheduled for about 1 hour). This presentation takes place at the Old Bank at 1900 Wellington St. and the cost is a Donation. Although reservations are not required, please do send us a note to info@psccommunity.com if you plan to attend with the number of seats required - which will help us with the set-up.
Nottingham Playhouse Responds to Proposed Funding Cuts

On Tuesday 5th Nottinghamshire County Council announced without warning, that Nottingham Playhouse could potentially lose 100 percent of its funding (£94,500) as part of £154m worth of cuts they have to make over the next three years.

This season at The Paradigm Annex Theatre audiences will witness firsthand the development of New Works for the stage and screen in our February Film Festival, 24 Hour Play Festival a New Works Festival and, beginning in January, The Annex reading series, reading new scripts for development from submissions across the nation.

Although his career spans four decades, Clint Holmes is in the midst of a significant breakthrough. Having spent the last 20 years as one of Vegas's most successful entertainers, he has, over the last two years, in his 60s, achieved tremendous acclaim with solo shows in New York at the legendary Cafe Carlyle. Reviewing Holmes' tribute to Paul Simon and Cole Porter last year at the Cafe, Stephen Holden wrote in The New York Times that Holmes merged 'the excitement of Las Vegas and the sophistication of Manhattan' and further described Holmes as 'a brainy showman.' Holmes' 2011 Cafe Carlyle debut, Remembering Bobby Short, was equally beloved. He shifts the focus to his own remarkable life story with Stop This Train, returning to the venue trough October 12. The Paradigm Annex Theatre in Wisconsin has named Nicole Dominguez, of Los Angeles the Executive Director beginning September 19th, 2013. Nicole is the creator of Liberate Groundlings in the Youth Theatre Project- Found Space Shakespeare, the co-creator of The Greatest Day of Our Lives Productions and her play, 'Honestly, OK' co-written with her writing partner Lauren Stone will premiere on November 18th at The Blank Theatre in Hollywood. The Paradigm Annex Theatre is committed to cultivating new artistic voices and ideas using all artistic mediums, with theatre and music as a basis. Nicole is the ideal leader in the development of our organization. Her ideas and energy are boundless.
