Christopher Plummer To Narrate TCM's 'Moguls And Movie Stars'

Two-time Emmy(R) winner and 2009 Academy Award(R) nominee Christopher Plummer (The Last Station) will narrate Turner Classic Movies' (TCM) ambitious, seven-part original production MOGULS AND MOVIE STARS: A HISTORY OF HOLLYWOOD. This comprehensive true story behind the making of the American movie industry is being co-produced by TCM and Bill Haber's Ostar Productions. The series is slated to premiere in November 2010.

Northlight Theatre Presents Hugh Leonard's A LIFE Featuring John Mahoney

Northlight Theatre continues its 35th Anniversary Season with Hugh Leonard's A Life, directed by Artistic Director BJ Jones and featuring Tony Award winner John Mahoney with an all-Chicago cast. The production runs March 18 - April 25, 2010 at Northlight Theatre, 9501 Skokie Blvd in Skokie.

Rubicon Theatre Presents Joanna McClelland Glass’ TRYING, 3/13-4/4

Rubicon Theatre Company continues its 2009-2010 Season with the Central Coast Premiere of a timely drama about a fascinating and enigmatic figure in American history. TRYING, which opens March 13 and runs through April 4th (with low-priced previews March 11 and 12), is a poignant, poetic and powerful story about a relationship between Francis Biddle, Attorney General under Roosevelt and Chief Judge at the Nuremburg trials; and Sarah, a tenacious 25-year-old woman from the Canadian plains, one of a string of secretaries Biddle's wife has hired to help him put his affairs in order at the end of his long an illustrious career. Biddle, 81, is in poor health, proud and cantankerous as he begins to confront his own mortality. Sarah, however, is also headstrong, and from her early life on the prairie has developed a strength and wisdom beyond her years. Despite the difference in ideologies and age, the two forge a friendship. The play is autobiographical in nature and is written by Joanna McClelland Glass, who worked for Biddle in the late 60s.

Christopher Plummer & Ewan McGregor Lead 'Beginners' Indie Flick

Stage star and former Mr. Von Trapp, Christopher Plummer, will topline the new Indie film, Beginners, alsongside Ewan McGregor, Melanie Laurent (Inglorious Basterds), and Goran Visnjic (ER). Production has already begin in Los Angeles.

Adrian Noble Named As Artistic Director Of The Old Globe's 2010 Shakespeare Festival

Executive Producer Louis G. Spisto today announced the appointment of Adrian Noble as Artistic Director of The Old Globe's 2010 Shakespeare Festival celebrating the theater's 75th anniversary season. One of the theater's most respected and sought-after directors, Noble will oversee the Festival and direct two of the three productions presented in repertory. Noble succeeds Resident Artistic Director Darko Tresnjak who will leave his post in September to pursue independent directing opportunities. The annual festival will run from June 12 through September 26, 2010.

NoHo ACE Presents EAST OF BERLIN, Previews 5/29-6/4 At NoHo Arts Center

The multi-award-winning NoHo Arts Center Ensemble (NoHo ACE) in association with 49th Parallel Theatre present the American Premiere of EAST OF BERLIN, written by Hannah Moscovitch and directed by Chris ?CB? Brown and Sara Botsford. EAST OF BERLIN will preview on Friday, May 29 at 8pm; Saturday, May 30 at 8pm; Sunday, May 31 at 3pm and Thursday, June 4 at 8pm and will open on Friday, June 5 at 8pm and will run for seven weeks through Sunday, July 19 at the NoHo Arts Center, 11136 Magnolia Blvd. (at Lankershim) in North Hollywood.

Naked Angels Extends FAULT LINES Through 11/9

Due to demand for tickets, Naked Angels (Geoffrey Nauffts, Artistic Director and Brittany O'Neill, Managing Director) has extended the world premiere engagement of Stephen Belber's new dark comedy Fault Lines, directed by David Schwimmer. Fault Lines opened September 30, 2008 at The Cherry Lane Theatre (38 Commerce Street). The run will now continue through November 9, 2008.
