Altice USA To Become The Shed's Exclusive Connectivity Partner

Altice USA (NYSE: ATUS), one of the largest broadband communications and video services operators in the U.S., and The Shed, the much-anticipated new arts center opening on Manhattan's west side next spring, today announced a long-term, multi-year $25 million partnership. Altice USA will be The Shed's exclusive connectivity provider, supplying the new nonprofit organization with a state-of-the-art fiber network and infrastructure to connect people to new cultural experiences and support these experiences through technology. Additionally, Altice USA will provide audiences, artists, and staff with access to superior WiFi service.

Theater stalwart Jamie Du Mont, Lucille Lortel Award winner Leslie Kritzer, writer and theater critic Rob Russo, and Tony Award nominee Jennifer Simard recently launched their brand-new Broadway-centric podcast, The Fabulous Invalid. The inaugural season will consist of 40 episodes, released weekly between Broadway performances on Wednesday two-show days. Select episodes will be taped from the group's 'usual table' at the famed theater restaurant Orso. Catch up on some of the latest episodes below!

International Contemporary Ensemble Announces Spring 2019 Concerts

The International Contemporary Ensemble (ICE) announces their spring 2019 season concerts. Engagements this spring include performances of Tyshawn Sorey's Perle Noire: Meditations For Josephine featuring rising soprano Julia Bullock at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, Miller Theatre Composer Portraits of Wang Lu and Tyshawn Sorey, three performances at the 2019 Big Ears Festival in Knoxville, and Silent Voices: Lovestate with the Brooklyn Youth Chorus at The New Victory Theater in NYC. The Ensemble also continues its partnerships with the New York Public Library and Nokia Bell Labs Experiments in Art and Technology throughout the spring.

VIDEO: Disney Channel Releases the Trailer for the Live-Action KIM POSSIBLE

'Kim Possible,' a Disney Channel Original Movie based on the beloved animated series, will premiere FRIDAY, FEB. 15 (8:00-9:32 p.m. EST/PST), on Disney Channel and DisneyNOW. In this comedic action-adventure, a live-action transformation of the original series, newcomer Sadie Stanley stars as the iconic teen hero Kim Possible along with Sean Giambrone (ABC's 'The Goldbergs') as her best friend and sidekick, Ron Stoppable. Immediately following 'Kim Possible,' Disney Channel will present a first look at the new eight-part miniseries 'Fast Layne,' with an episode titled 'Mile 1: the Voice in the Shed.' 'Fast Layne' will move to its regular timeslot with a second installment, 'Mile 2: Paid to Drive,' on SUNDAY, FEB. 17 (8:00-8:30 p.m. EST/PST). Both episodes will be available on DisneyNOW.

Manchester four-piece The Slow Readers have announced an extensive UK tour for 2019, which will follow their sold-out headline dates in Glasgow, London and Manchester next month.

The Shed Hosts World Premiere of Concert Production by Björk

Alex Poots, Artistic Director and CEO of The Shed, today announced Cornucopia, a new concert production conceived and performed by Bjork and directed by John Tiffany. Cornucopia will receive its world premiere at The Shed in spring 2019 as part of its inaugural season in its largest space, The McCourt.

52 Emerging NYC Artists Chosen For Inaugural “Open Call”

Alex Poots, Artistic Director and CEO of The Shed, today announced that 52 emerging artists and collectives living or working in New York City have been commissioned to create new work as part of The Shed's inaugural Open Call program. Developed specifically for New York City artists who have not yet had opportunities to create new work with full support from a large cultural institution, Open Call is integral to The Shed's vision: to develop and present the full spectrum of performing arts, visual arts, and pop culture, under one roof, for all audiences. Open Call debuts in The Shed's 2019 season, with works continuing to be presented into 2020.

Encore Performance For THE MILE-LONG OPERA Added 10/8

This October, 1,000 singers from across New York City's five boroughs will come together on the High Line for the premiere performances of The Mile-Long Opera: a biography of 7 o'clock. Due to overwhelming demand for tickets to the previously announced performances (October 3-7), an encore performance will be added on October 8.Tickets for this additional night will be made available first to members of the public currently on the waitlist, on a first come, first served basis, beginning Thursday, September 27, at noon. Those interested in accessing these tickets may join the waitlist at milelongopera.com. Tickets for The Mile-Long Opera are free, but advance registration is required. A standby line will open 30 minutes prior to the 7:00pm time slot on all performance dates.

Slow & Steady Records announces the release of Richard Sears' fifth album, Iron Year. Sears expands on the compositional palette from his previous album, Altadena, with new material written after moving to New York City in 2015, realized primarily for sextet. Iron Year draws inspiration from the Hart Crane poem To Brooklyn Bridge – a mediation of human labor and aspiration parlaying a spiritual achievement.
