Euan Morton has woven the writings of John Lennon and his son Julian, John Denver, Nik Kershaw as well as a few original works of his own with accompanist Bryan Reeder to create an evening of poetry and song entitled 'Stranger in a Strange Land.' He sat down with BWW TV to fill us in on how and why he returns to the New York stage of The Metropolitan Room.

'Stranger in a Strange Land' will be performed at the Metropolitan Room Sundays, October 5, 12, and 19 at 9:30 PM. There will be a $30 cover and two beverage minimum. These performances over the month of October will be the first time in a long time that Euan has performed some of the signature material from the musical 'Taboo' and the first time he and his accompanist, Bryan Reeder, will have played their new material in public.

he New York Musical Theatre Festival, Laura Brandel and Patrice Miller have announced Broadway and R&B star Billy Porter to direct a cast that includes Tony-Award Winner Chuck Cooper (The Life, Caroline or Change), Natalie Venetia Belcon (Avenue Q, The Glorious Ones, TV's Johnny and the Sprites) and Adam Halpin (Glory Days) in the world premiere musical Twilight in Manchego. The YORK THEATRE COMPANY (James Morgan, Producing Artistic Director) will add a performance of its hit show, ENTER LAUGHING: THE MUSICAL, on Sunday September 21st at 8 pm, in memory of Bruce Adler, who played the role of Forman in York's two previous incarnations of Enter Laughing, The Musical-in the Fall 2007 Musicals in Mufti Series, and in December 2007, when the show was brought back for an additional weekend of performances. Mr. Adler died July 25th of liver cancer; he was 63 years old. 100% of the York's revenues from the performance will go to the Adler Family, supporting an educational fund for his three surviving children.
