Inside the Press Launch for THE STAR SEEKERS at the National Theatre

The Star Seekers by the Wardrobe Ensemble is headed to the Dorfman Theatre at the National Theatre this August. It's an interactive space show for children aged three to eight years old, but with plenty for the whole family to enjoy. We got a sneak preview of the show and the chance to chat with its creators at its press launch last week.

Photo Flash: TDF Honors Tony Kushner & James Lapine at 50th Anniversary Gala!

 On Monday June 18, TDF, which is celebrating 50 years of service to audiences and the performing arts community in 2018, honored Pulitzer and Tony Award-winning playwright TONY KUSHNER at its 50th Anniversary Gala. Mr. Kushner's Tony Award-winning masterwork, Angels in America, which is currently receiving its first Broadway revival with the National Theatre production at the Neil Simon Theatre is running through July 15.

Austin Pendleton Directs And Adapts A New Stage Version Of Shakespeare's Greatest Villain In WARS OF THE ROSES: HENRY VI & RICHARD III

Tony nominated theatre luminary Austin Pendleton directs and adapts a new stage version of Richard III, Shakespeare's greatest villain, in WARS OF THE ROSES: HENRY VI & RICHARD III, which begins performances August 1st at the 124 Bank Street Theatre. The play combines texts from William Shakespeare's Henry VI Part 3 and Richard III, to create a version, which has never been seen before. The production stars Pendleton as Henry VI and Matt de Rogatis as Richard III, while giving a fascinating take on one of history's most notorious villains. The opening is set for Saturday, August 4th at 7PM. WARS OF THE ROSES: HENRY VI & RICHARD III will play a limited engagement through August 19th. THE CURIOUS INCIDENT OF THE DOG IN THE NIGHT-TIME Begins Australian Tour

The National Theatre of Great Britain's Olivier and Tony Award®-winning production of THE CURIOUS INCIDENT OF THE DOG IN THE NIGHT-TIME has opened in Brisbane (playing until 24 June) as part of an Australian tour including Canberra from 27 June, Sydney from 4 July, Adelaide from 31 July and Perth from 8 August. The tour comes after an acclaimed sell-out debut season in Melbourne earlier in the year and an Asian tour. 

Adventure Theatre Announces 2018-2019 Professional Season

Adventure Theatre MTC (ATMTC), recipient of 8 Helen Hayes awards, including its most recent win for Outstanding Original Play or Musical Adaptation, 2018, brings to the stage familiar friends, new and old, as they learn to navigate the world in its action-packed 67th season. Wardrobe Ensemble Premieres SOUTH WESTERN

Following a sold out run earlier this year at Bristol Old Vic with Education, Education, Education, The Wardrobe Ensemble return to Bristol with the world premiere of South Western, a spaghetti western set in the South West which interrogates ideas of heritage and mythology.

MEAN GIRLS Breaks August Wilson Theatre Box Office Record Again and Releases New Block Of Tickets

The award-winning hit new Broadway musical Mean Girls, produced by Lorne Michaels, Stuart Thompson, Sonia Friedman, and Paramount Pictures, has once again broken the August Wilson Theatre box office record for an eight performance week, grossing $1,572,995.95 for the week ending June 17, 2018. A new block of tickets has been released for performances through Sunday, July 7, 2019 with group bookings open through November 24, 2019.

Jess Phillips To Join Writing Team For World Premiere Of WOMEN IN POWER

Director of Nuffield Southampton Theatres, Samuel Hodges, today announces Labour MP, Jess Phillips will join the writing team for the world premiere of Women In Power. The production sees some of the UK's most influential female voices, including Wendy Cope, Jenny Eclair, Suhayla El-Bushra, Natalie Haynes, Shappi Khorsandi and Brona C Titley, come together to write this musical comedy based on the Greek classic, The Assemblywomen. Directed by NST Associate Director Blanche McIntyre, the production opens on 6 September at NST City and runs until 29 September.

BWW Review: AN OCTOROON, National Theatre

Ned Bennett's production is a gruelling watch, and has contained within it many moments that shock, enlighten, provoke and surprise. Despite its transfer to the National Theatre, the production is still, as Ken Nwosu states to the audience, 'surrounded by white people.'

Original LGBTQ Musical SONATA 1962 Will Make Off-Broadway Debut At NYMF 2018

American Indian Artists Inc. (AMERINDA) will present the World Premiere of FEAR OF OATMEAL conceived, written and directed by Muriel Miguel, co-founder of the legendary Spiderwoman Theater. Previews begin on June 8 at Theatre for the New City. Opening night is slated for June 15.

ARRIVAL & DEPARTURE Love Story to Star Married Deaf Actors Troy Kotsur and Deanne Bray

An unforgettable love story inspired by one of the most romantic movies of all time. Stephen Sachs directs Deaf actors Deanne Bray (Sue Thomas: F.B.Eye, Heroes) and Troy Kotsur (title role in Cyrano at the Fountain, Big River on Broadway) in Sachs' newest play, inspired by the screenplay for Noel Coward's Brief Encounter. The world premiere of Arrival & Departure will open on July 14 and continue through September 30 at the Fountain Theatre. The cast also features hearing actors Jessica Jade Andres, Adam Burch,Brian Robert Burns, Shon Fuller, Kyra Kotsur, Aurelia Myersand Stasha Surdyke.

Roundabout Will Honor John Lithgow at 2019 Gala

Roundabout Theatre Company has announced that its annual 2019 Gala will celebrate two-time Tony and six-time Emmy Award winner John Lithgow with The Jason Robards Award for Excellence in Theatre on Monday, February 25, 2019.
