The Clear Space Theatre Company is in rehearsal for their next production - the area premiere of Avenue Q. The show, which won the 2004 Tony award for Best Original Score and Best Musical, opens in Rehoboth Beach Friday, May 2, and plays through May 18. Avenue Q stars both human and puppet characters similar to those used on Sesame Street and The Muppets, but deals with adult themes such as finding a job, questioning your sexuality, wondering why you can't find a date, racism, the true reason for the internet and finding your purpose in life.

Today the Smithsonian's National Portrait Gallery has installed a photograph of American entertainer Mickey Rooney with frequent co-star Judy Garland. The photograph was created by Harold E. Edgerton in 1939. It will be on view in a first-floor space that is designated for remembrance of recently deceased people represented in the museum's collection.

I have seen few shows that adhere to their company's mission statement better than this one. This weekend, I attended Imaginary's Beasts's production of Lovers' Quarrels, a fairly unknown Moliere piece, and have to say that adventurous and non-traditional hit the nail right on the head.

But mayhem follows the Muppets overseas, as they find themselves unwittingly entangled in an international crime caper headed by Constantine—the World's Number One Criminal and a dead ringer for Kermit the Frog—and his dastardly sidekick Dominic, aka Number Two, portrayed by Ricky Gervais. The film stars Tina Fey as Nadya, a feisty prison guard, and Ty Burrell as Interpol agent Jean Pierre Napoleon.
