Eleanor Reissa -- one of the members of the cast of Paula Vogel's Tony Award-winning play INDECENT, also known as the 'Yiddish diva' - will be joined by Frank London, a founding member of the Grammy Award-winning Klezmatics, for a one-night-only concert of traditional and popular music performed in Yiddish on Monday, July 17 at 7 pm at 54 Below (254 W. 54 St.) in New York City. 

The National Yiddish Theatre Folksbiene (NYTF) hosts a two-day immigration arts summit on Monday/Tuesday July 17 & 18 during the Off-Broadway run of the musical 'Amerike -- The Golden Land.'

Blending the klezmer, roots-rock and Hasidic cantorial worlds to breathtaking effect, the National Yiddish Theatre Folksbiene (NYTF) presents 'Yiddish Soul 2017' at SummerStage in Central Park on Wednesday June 14 at 7pm.

Table Pounding Music is proud to present two benefit concerts for the American Civil Liberties Union, produced by Grammy-nominated clarinetist David Krakauer, pianist-composer Kathleen Tagg and Table Pounding Music on Saturday, April 15th at 7:30pm and Sunday, September 24th at 6pm. This all-star group of virtuosic, boundary-pushing New York City musicians share two common attributes: a quest for pushing outside the box in their respective genres, exploring what it means to be a musician from multiple different angles; and a desire to use their artistic voices to raise funds for the protection of civil liberties. One hundred percent of the artist fees will be donated to the ACLU. The concerts will take place at Symphony Space. Please see the lineup and further details below. Pianist/composer LEON GURVITCH will make his Weill Recital Hall at Carnegie Hall debut with a program of works by Bach, Gershwin, and Piazzolla, as well as his own compositions, Saturday March 18, 2017 at 8 PM.  Presented by Leon Gurvitch.

Award-winning Argentine vocalist, songwriter and producer Sofia Rei is considered one of the most passionate and inventive vocalists on the current New York music scene. Her music explores connections between the various traditions of South American folklore, jazz, flamenco and electronic sounds.

INDECENT begins previews Tuesday, April 4 and opens Tuesday, April 18 at the Cort Theatre (138 West 48th Street, between Sixth and Seventh Avenues).

Daryl Roth, Elizabeth Ireland McCann and Cody Lassen, the producers of Indecent -- the newest work by Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright Paula Vogel (HOW I LEARNED TO DRIVE) -- have announced that the entire original Off-Broadway ensemble will travel to Broadway when the production begins previews at the Cort Theatre (138 West 48th Street, between Sixth and Seventh Avenues), on April 4, prior to its official opening night on April 18.

Led by CSO Music Director Rossen Milanov and featuring guest clarinetist David Krakauer, this intriguing, genre-bending program celebrates the origins and influences of klezmer music, the lively and soulful dance tunes played by Jewish folk musicians as they traveled throughout eastern Europe during the nineteenth and early twentieth centuries. Program selections range from folk-flavored classical pieces by Liszt and Johann Strauss to recent works with similarly mixed roots.

This Hanukah season, Segerstrom Center for the Arts welcomes superstars of the klezmer world, the Klezmatics tonight, December 22, in Samueli Theater.

Actor, vocalist and activist Theodore Bikel died July 21, 2015 at age 91 in Los Angeles. He will be remembered in a memorial concert in New York City, titled 'Remembering Theo - an evening of music, laughter and love,' September 27 in The Kaye Playhouse at Hunter College (68th Street between Park and Lexington Ave.). The evening will feature musical performances by many of Bikel's friends and treasured colleagues.
