Directed by its creator Ian von Memerty, Roelof Colyn and Jonathan Roxmouth two grand pianos, give a dazzling display of pianistic virtuosity and hilarious impersonation. A performance of constant surprise, intelligence and wit, with music that ranges from the great classic masters Bach and Beethoven; through the kings of soul Ray Charles and Fats Waller and via the queens of showbiz and pop, Elton John, Freddy Mercury and Liberace. Performances are Monday, May 3rd through May 7th.

The rich cultures of ancient Nubia, located in present-day southern Egypt and northern Sudan, are the subject of an exhibition opening today at the Institute for the Study of the Ancient World (ISAW). On view through June 12, 2011, Nubia: Ancient Kingdoms of Africa evokes the rise, fall, and re-emergence of Nubian power over the course of some 2,500 years, from the earliest Nubian kingdoms of about 3000 BC through the conquest of Egypt beginning in about 750 BC. With more than 120 objects, ranging from statues portraying kings to military weapons, jewelry, pottery, and more, the exhibition illuminates the culture of ancient Nubia-particularly its ongoing, complex relationship with Egypt-and reveals its remarkable and distinctive aesthetic tradition.

Budd Friedman and Mark Lonow's world-famous Improv Comedy Club at Harrah's Las Vegas showcases a different marquee of acts each week. Guy Torry takes the stage tomorrow through Sunday, with supporting acts Larry Brown and Lachlan Patterson. Improv shows are at 8:30pm and 10:30pm every Tuesday through Sunday. Tickets are $29.05 (plus applicable taxes) or $44.95 (plus applicable taxes) for VIP tickets that include special seating, an Improv t-shirt and post-show meet-and-greet with the comics. Due to a delay in issuing visas for musicians traveling from New Delhi to New York, the performances of the closing presentation of Lincoln Center's White Light Festival, the U.S. premiere of Roysten Abel's extraordinary music-theater work The Manganiyar Seduction, have been postponed to Monday, November 22, and Tuesday, November 23, 2010. Performances will take place as planned in the Rose Theater, in Rose Hall, home of Jazz at Lincoln Center (Broadway at 60th Street), at 7:30 PM.
