YAGP to Present THE MAKING OF AN ARTIST, 1/27

Youth America Grand Prix (YAGP) will present "The Making of an Artist" moderated by Barbara Brandt on Monday January 27 at 6:30pm at New York City Center Studios, Studio 5 (130 West 56th Street, NYC). American Ballet Theatre's Marcelo Gomes will create new choreography on renowned ABT dancers Misty Copeland and James Whiteside live. Through discussion and demonstration, their creative evolution will unfold. YAGP founding Board Chair, Barbara Brandt says, "I want to give the audience an opportunity to join the dancers and choreographer, in the studio, as we explore the question, "What is an artist?" The evening will conclude with an informal reception.

Great American Country has renewed its original television series Farm Kings for a third season, the network announced today. A strong ratings performer that year-to-date has registered nearly 13 million primetime viewers according to Nielsen, Farm Kings celebrates family, food and home while chronicling the hard-working lives of a real, authentic, American farm family near Pittsburgh, PA: the Kings of Freedom Farms, a big, broad-shouldered group of nine brothers, one sister and a dynamic mother. Season three launches on Thursday, December 19 at 9pm ET/8c on Great American Country.

Bianca Santos, Erin Moriarty, Ana Coto and Vivis Colombetti Join Universal's OIUJA

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Universal's upcoming horror film OUIJA has completed its cast before filming begins in LA this week. Bianca Santos (The Fosters), Erin Moriarty (Red Widow), Ana Coto and Vivis Colombetti (Paranormal Activity 2) have signed on for the movie, directed by Stiles White.

Kings Of Leon Announce First Leg Of 2014 MECHANICAL BULL TOUR

Kings Of Leon announced today the first leg of their American tour in support of their recently released new album, Mechanical Bull. The band will kick off the 2014 MECHANICAL BULL TOUR on February 5, 2014 at Philips Arena in Atlanta, GA. Produced by Live Nation and presented by Klipsch Audio, the tour will feature opener Gary Clark, Jr. on this first leg. Theater Resources Unlimited (TRU) announces a preliminary lineup of star performers, and a luminous array of theater notables including Andre Bishop, Terrence McNally and James Naughton, who will help celebrate three extraordinary people at the annual TRU Love Benefit, Honoring Friendship, Remembering Friends. The trio of TRU friends who will be remembered and honored are producer Randall Wreghitt (Little Women, Beauty Queen of Leenane, Grey Gardens, The Lieutenant of Inishmore, Golda's Balcony, As Bees in Honey Drown, The Food Chain) who died unexpectedly at the age of 55 in May 2011, and will be posthumously remembered with the 2013 TRU Spirit of Theater Award; Michael Feingold, former critic with the Village Voice, who will receive the TRU Humanitarian Award for educating generations of theatergoers about the historical, social and cultural context of the shows he reviews; and TRU member and program director Patricia R. Klausner, who will be recognized and applauded with the TRU Entrepreneur Award for her ongoing dedication in both the not-for-profit and commercial producing arenas.

Nashville Symphony and Nashville Musicians Union Reach Tentative Agreement

Ehrenkranz Artistic Director Jane Moss today announced the roster for Lincoln Center's fourth multidisciplinary White Light Festival, October 24 through November 23, 2013. The Festival's focus is music's capacity to illuminate the many dimensions of our interior lives, with a particular emphasis this year on the power of the voice. Spanning numerous musical traditions, genres, and disciplines, the Festival will offer 23 performances, films, and events featuring seven premieres and debuts by artists and companies from more than a dozen countries, including France, India, the Netherlands, Spain, Germany, the U.K., Mali, Estonia, Italy, Austria, Canada and the U.S. New to this edition of the Festival is White Light on Film, film screenings followed by discussions with their directors. Other Festival components include: a panel discussion focused on the subject of time, pre- and post-performance artist discussions, and the popular post-performance White Light Lounges.
