The Dallas Opera Guild will present the 23rd annual 'Dallas Opera Guild Vocal Competition,' a showcase for talented young opera singers who either come from Texas or got here 'as fast as they could' on Saturday, May 14, 2011 in the Margot and Bill Winspear Opera House at the AT&T Performing Arts Center, 2403 Flora Street, Dallas, TX 75201.

At its meeting on December 8, 2010, the Houston Grand Opera Association Board of Directors unanimously elected Beth Madison to succeed Glen Rosenbaum as its chair. Rosenbaum, whose term expires on July 31, 2011, has been Chairman since September, 2009.'It has been an inspiration and a delight to get to know Beth over the last few years,' says HGO General Director and CEO Anthony Freud. 'I am thrilled that the Board of Directors has elected her as its new chair to succeed Glen Rosenbaum next August, and I look forward, with eager anticipation, to working with her'.

DANCES PATRELLE's 'THE YORKVILLE NUTCRACKER' will have its 10th annual production, at The Kaye Playhouse at Hunter College (68th Street between Park & Lexington Avenues) NYC; December 11h - 14th. Once again The Yorkville Nutcracker will have students from: Ballet Academy East, Studio Maestro, The Ailey School and 92nd St Y Harkness Dance Center. The two-act ballet, has been choreographed by Artistic Director, Francis Patrelle. It has set design by Gillian Bradshaw-Smiths, costumes by Rita B. Watson, and lighting by David Grill. The cast will feature special guest artists from the New York City Ballet: Jenifer Ringer and Jared Angle.

Due to wide acclaim and overwhelming audience response, 'Arias with a Twist' has been extended through Sunday, August 31.

The all-new fully renovated HERE Arts Center proudly reopens its doors this Spring with Arias with a Twist, a premiere production from New York favorites Joey Arias and Basil Twist. Arias with a Twist marks the 10th Anniversary of the Dream Music Puppetry Program and the Dorothy B. Williams Theatre at HERE Arts Center. The production is presented as part of HERE's 2007-2008 season of new multi-disciplinary productions spanning theatre, dance, puppetry and multimedia work, which includes Dream Music programming. Arias with a Twist will run Thursday, June 12 - Saturday, July 13 at HERE Arts Center (145 Sixth Avenue).

Designers Santo Loguasto, Bob Mackie, Murell Horton, Kermit Love and Rouben Ter-Arutunian will all be honored for their contributions to the theater at the TDF/Irene Sharaff Award Ceremony March 23rd at the Hudson Theatre.
