John Forslund, Exec. Producer of JDProductions ('Bound for Broadway' Cabaret Showcases Sundays @ 9:30 pm at The Duplex) is launching a new charity-cabaret series to begin Monday, September 13th 9:30 PM at The Duplex Cabaret Theatre. JDProductions Gives Back: Broadway Off'Leash. Tickets are $10 with a 2 drink minimum, and all proceeds from JDProductions go to Abandoned Angels Cocker Rescue, a local animal rescue charity in Queens, New York. The benefit concerts will occur one Monday a month, and is already scheduled for Monday October 25th at 9:30 PM.

Performers from Broadway's Spring Awakening, Annie Get Your Gun, Three Penny Opera, 42nd Street, Xanadu, Off-Broadway's Twist, Disappearing Acts, The Toxic Avenger and national tours of Joseph, Kiss Me Kate and Grease come together at The Duplex, 61 Christopher St. on Friday, September 10th at 7:00pm and Friday, September 17th at 9:30pm to raise funds for a feature length documentary, in production, 'WALK WITH ME', a project of aya arts and media.

Sinclair, Sam, and Stu discover the audience in their attic. Clearly, these quiet strangers are going to eat them, so they distract the hungry savages by telling them their grandfather's original fairytales. With these vivid, multi-media stories the siblings discover the answer to, 'are we still loved after the person who loved us is gone?'.

Jim Caruso is delighted to present Kate Pazakis and Megan Reinking in concert as part of the Broadway at Birdland series. The event will take place on Monday, September 27 at 7pm.

Everyday Rapture's Natalie Weiss will make her Los Angeles debut on September 3rd at Barre Vermont - formerly Upright Cabaret. Audiences at the 9pm concert can expect a mix of musical theatre and pop standards, including ‘The Spark of Creation,' ‘House of Love,' Ironic' among others. Weiss will be joined by a few special guests who will be announced shortly.

On Monday, August 30th, New York Theatre Barn will present its monthly showcase for emerging writers and performers at the D-Lounge at the Daryl Roth Theater, which will feature the songs of Jake Brandman as well as a presentation of the new musical Substitute Dreams. Executive Producers for NYTB in the D-Lounge are Laura Brandel and Karen Marshall.

Musical theater artist and songstress, Trish LaRose, performs BULLETPROOF at The Duplex.

In 'Viva la Evolución!' (www.vivalaevoluciontheshow.com), the comic actress Diana Yanez, a first-generation Cuban-American, takes us on her journey from Castro to Disco in a one-woman comedy of growing up Cuban and queer in Miami.

One of the Desert's favorite singers, Jerome Elliott, who will be making his New York cabaret debut in the fall, gives Desert audiences a sneak preview of his East Coast-bound show, A Dry Heat on August 28th as part of Les Michaels' Summer Cabaret Series at the Joslyn Center's Arthur Newman Theatre.

The Meeting* is a hit monthly comedy/variety show for homosexuals and their friends. A 'gay' romp through politics, sexual and otherwise, social news, music, skits, and other important life-changing information.

Tonight, The Duplex hosts In Providence, a musical comedy which allows the audience to decide the characters' fates. The audience gets the chance to decide the setting for the love story that takes place within the musical, choosing from the pitches set before them by the Muses.
