Beginning Friday, The Duplex welcomes Carly Sakolove in an open-ended engagement of her one-woman show, I HEAR VOICES. In addition to Carly, a surprise guest "Diva" will be performing to celebrate the opening. As of February 22, audiences can enjoy Sakolove's critically acclaimed "Broadway Diva" impressions on the last Friday of each month. The show, written by Sakolove and Tony Award nominee Bill Russell has previously played sold-out engagements at The Duplex and Joe's Pub.

In a desperate attempt to pay her rent, single-white-cabaret performer-comedienne-depressive Kristine Zbornik is back with a somewhat new and entirely unrehearsed show. With the assistance of Bobby Peaco, her trusty piano-playing, joke-writing 'straight' man, Kristine Zbornik's Open-Ended Depression will most certainly be a rehash of everything you've already seen before and much, much less. Performances are Todays at 9:30 beginning tonight, February 10th.

Composer/Lyricist Scott Evan Davis will present the first-ever staged revue of his music in March at The Duplex Cabaret Theater in Greenwich Village. There will be three shows: March 9th, 17th and 24th, 2013 at 7pm.

After a sold-out run last year at the Duplex, this unique cabaret act written and performed by Brett Lowell with his 84-year old father is returning to NYC at the Laurie Beechman Theatre. Joining the creative team is director Michael Schiralli (Jackie Hoffman's A Chanukah Charol at New World Stages).

'Not as Cute as Picture', a GLAAD-Media Award Nominee for Outstanding Theater: Washinton DC, played to sold out houses, January 11-12 of this year and returns to The Duplex (61 Christopher St., NYC - at 7th Ave.) for four additional performances on Feb. 8 & 22 and March 8 & 22 - all performances are at 9:30 pm.

Acclaimed jazz recording star Jane Monheit is the latest 2012 BroadwayWorld.com Cabaret Award winner to join a star-studded performing lineup featuring fellow winners Ben Vereen and Marilyn Maye, composer Jason Robert Brown, as well as cabaret stars Billy Stritch, KT Sullivan, Karen Kohler, Jim Caruso, and Colleen McHugh. The second annual Broadway Sings for PKD, a concert benefitting the Polycystic Kidney Disease Foundation, will be offered tonight, February 2nd at The Duplex in NYC.

August Strindberg Repertory Theatre (www.strindberg.org), which was formed last year to illuminate Strindberg's plays for today's American audiences, will present Strindberg's 'Easter' (Pask, 1901) with an all-black cast, adapted and directed by Robert Greer, from March 8 to 31 at the Gene Frankel Theatre, 24 Bond Street (East Village). The play has a similar complement of characters to Strindberg's 'Playing With Fire' (Leka med elden, 1893), with which the young company made an auspicious debut last Spring. Cast members from 'Playing With Fire' will be returning to play their corresponding roles in 'Easter.'

If you're a cabaret performer thinking about staging a musical comedy theme show, or even if you're just a cabaret fan who appreciates a thoroughly entertaining show on multiple levels, you should try to squeeze yourself into The Duplex on Wednesday night at 7 pm to see Adam Shapiro's encore performance of his Guide to the Perfect Breakup, which is also a textbook on how to create the almost perfect musical comedy cabaret show. Erin Markey has announced a return to Joe's Pub. Known for her dark wit and absurdist transformations, Markey has been likened to Kristen Wiig, Kathy Acker and Eileen Brennan. Erin weaves together an exciting bill of R&B, 90's pop and grunge, standards and original music under the direction of Ben Rimalower (Leslie Kritzer is Patti LuPone at Les Mouches) with musical direction by Tony-nominated Kenny Mellman (Kiki and Herb).
