Kristine Zbornik's OPEN-ENDED DEPRESSION Plays the Duplex, Beginning Tonight

In a desperate attempt to pay her rent, single-white-cabaret performer-comedienne-depressive Kristine Zbornik is back with a somewhat new and entirely unrehearsed show. With the assistance of Bobby Peaco, her trusty piano-playing, joke-writing "straight" man, Kristine Zbornik's Open-Ended Depression will most certainly be a rehash of everything you've already seen before and much, much less. Performances are Sundays at 9:30 beginning tonight, February 10th.

Zbornik, who turns 100 this year, reflects on this time in her life, stating, "Now that I've played Broadway, Vegas, and Shakespeare in the Park, I'm finally feeling comfortable enough with myself that I'm ready to start dating."

Since her last solo outing in 2009, I'm Developing, Zbornik toured the country as Roz in the first (and last) national tour of 9 to 5, where she realized why she can never live anywhere else but New York. Upon her triumphant return to Gotham, she worked non-stop in three more semi-high profile productions (including playing Jack's Mother opposite the pre-recorded voice of Oscar winner and musical theatre icon Glen Close in The Public Theatre's production of Into the Woods in Central Park), none of which paid more than $485.00 a week after taxes, which has brought her once again to the brink of bankruptcy and into this unprecedented Open-Ended Depression.

Kristine Zbornik's Open-Ended Depression will be a rag tag hodge podge mish mash of old familiar favorites she swore she'd never perform again ("Besame Mucho", "Blame It On the Bossa Nova", "Everybody's f-ing But Me", "Some People", "Stand By Your Man", "Good Morning Heartache", "Girl From Ipanema") as well as a mixture of brand new titles ("Never, Never, Never", "Get Away Don't Touch Me I Love You", "What Good Is Loving You With No Money", "Eat Shit and Die You Asshole", "Because I Hate Obama Doesn't Mean I Voted Romney") and many, many more that are destined to become classics. Bootleg videos of her performances on YouTube have been seen by literally tens of people and her untouchable interpretation of "Memory" from Cats has inspired countless tourists and aspiring young performers alike to leave New York City. She has performed on Broadway in A Catered Affair and Off-Broadway in Forbidden Broadway, Road Show, and Old Jews Telling Jokes as well as Rosie in Mamma Mia Las Vegas. She has not been seen in Wicked, both on Broadway and in London, to much acclaim.

There is no cover, just a two-drink minimum per person. There is no drink maximum, so alcoholics are encouraged to attend. Bring LOTS of cash as there will be a collection taken up at each performance for the purposes of paying rent and your cash contributions to the cause will be greatly appreciated.
