The Second City Returns To Denver 9/14-10/10

This September, The Second City, Chicago's legendary comedy theatre, will return to Denver with a new show celebrating the company's 50th anniversary. A well-known launching pad for some of today's most dynamic comedic talent, The Second City will present A Mile High Celebration: The Second City's 50th Anniversary September 14 through October 10, 2010 at the Garner Galleria Theatre.

Magic Theatre Opens Its 2010-2011 Season With THE BROTHERS SIZE, PART TWO

Magic Theatre opens its 2010-2011 season with The Brothers Size, Part Two of The Brothers/Sister Plays by Tarell Alvin McCraney. The play is directed by Octavio Solis and features recent A.C.T. graduates Tobie Windham and Alex Ubokudom and Joshua Elijah Reese.

MAMMA MIA Comes To Denver 11/2-7

Benny Andersson and Björn Ulvaeus' MAMMA MIA!, the smash hit musical based on the songs of ABBA, returns to the Buell Theatre November 2-7 only. Single tickets go on sale Sunday, September 12 at www.denvercenter.org or by phone and walk-up Monday, September 13 at 10am.

TV: Robert Foxworth Stars in King Lear at Old Globe

Robert Foxworth plays King Lear and Bruce Turk the Fool in Shakespeare's tragedy, directed by Festival Artistic Director Adrian Noble. The crowns are swapped in Alan Bennett's The Madness of George III, also helmed by Noble, where Miles Anderson will play King George III and Foxworth will play Dr. Willis. The Festival also includes Shakespeare's The Taming of the Shrew directed by Ron Daniels with Jonno Roberts and Emily Swallow as the two sparring lovers.

GREASE Plays The Buell Theater 10/12 For Eight Performances

The one that you want is back! GREASE, Time Magazine's 2007 pick for '#1 musical of the year,' is rockin' across the country in this new production direct from Broadway. The 2010-2011 national tour of the new Broadway production of GREASE plays the Buell Theatre beginning October 12 for eight performances only.

The Denver production of the show continues to play its regular schedule at Denver's Garner Galleria Theatre.

DCA Announces 2011 Broadway Season

Denver Center Attractions has announced a high-spirited season of Broadway hits headed to Denver. The 2011 season, generously supported by United Airlines and Vectra Bank, features hits straight from Broadway-including the 2009 Best Musical Tony Award winner BILLY ELLIOT THE MUSICAL and the 2010 Pulitzer Prize winner NEXT TO NORMAL.

Marin Theatre Company's WOODY GUTHRIE'S AMERICAN SONG Extends Through 6/27

Marin Theatre Company has announced an extension of their revival of Woody Guthrie's American Song. The show now plays in Marin Theatre Company's Boyer Theatre through June 27, 2010. Conceived, adapted and directed by Peter Glazer, this musical has been pleasing audiences since its premiere in 1988. It won the Bay Area Critics Circle Award for best musical in its co-production at Berkeley Rep and San Jose Repertory Theatre in 1992.
