Betty Buckley Will Give Song Interpretation/Monologue Workshop in NYC This May

Having just completed filming on the new M. Night Shyamalan film Split co-starring with James McAvoy, Tony Award Winner, Theater Hall of Fame 2012 honoree and legendary Broadway star Betty Buckley will be offering a 5 day Song Interpretation & Monologue Intensive Workshop at the T. Schreiber Studio in May. One of the foremost professional theatre studios in New York City. Established in 1969, T. Schreiber has been a home and training ground for many artists who have gone on to successful careers in theatre, film, and television. The Tony Award Winner will assist aspiring artists, educators and experienced performers in the craft of singing, acting and storytelling before she heads to Los Angeles to reprise her role of Big Edie in Grey Gardens at The Ahmanson Theater.

On a bright autumn night in Manchester, a woman named Harper Regan walks away from her job, her home, her husband and her daughter. The play named after her, 'Harper Regan' by English playwright Simon Stephens, stunningly reveals life on the cusp of the working class in modern British society. The author is the 2015 TONY Award-winner for best play ('The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time'). This 2008 play is a dramatic Odyssey navigating family, love and redemption. T. Schreiber Theatre, 151 West 26th Street, will present the piece May 4 to June 4, directed by Terry Schreiber.

'Natural Life' by Eduardo Ivan Lopez tells the tale of a death row inmate convicted of murder. But unlike the heroes of 'The Exonerated,' she is guilty of the crime. The play is inspired by a true incident in the 1980's. T. Schreiber Theatre, 151 West 26th Street, will present the play's world premiere March 2 to April 2, directed by Jake Turner.

Roundabout Theatre Company, in association with Ryan Murphy, has announced final casting for Eugene O'Neill's Long Day's Journey Into Night, starring Academy and Emmy Award winner Jessica Lange as 'Mary Tyrone,' Golden Globe winner and Tony Award nominee Gabriel Byrne as 'James Tyrone,' Academy Award nominee Michael Shannon as 'James Tyrone, Jr.,' and Tony Award winner John Gallagher Jr. as 'Edmund Tyrone.' Creative writing students ages 12 to 16 from Long Island¹s Usdan Center for the Creative and Performing Arts, the acclaimed summer arts day camp whose alumni include Natalie Portman, Mariah Carey, Jane Monheit, Taylor Dayne, Jackie Hoffman and Broadway playwright Michele Lowe, have joined for the third season with students of the same age from the Brooklyn Academy of Music (BAM) Summer Youth Program in a unique two-week joint workshop through July 31.
