The musical version of Manual Puig's 1976 novel first saw life in 1990. Despite having been begotten by theater royalty, Kiss of the Spider Woman got off to a rocky start before becoming one of the big musical hits of the '90s. Four-time Tony Award winner Terrence McNally adapted the book. John Kander and Fred Ebb (Cabaret, Chicago, Master Class) wrote the music. The producer was Harold Prince (Phantom of the Opera, Evita, Sweeny Todd), who has won more Tony Awards than anyone in the history of mankind (that would be 21).

Dying City, Christopher Shinn's acclaimed two-person play, casts an intimate light on the role of friendship and family in the wake of personal loss.

Lee (ANYTHING GOES), Adam Levinskas, Jose Llana (THE 25TH ANNUAL PUTNAM COUNTY SPELLING BEE, RENT), Orville Mendoza (PETER AND THE STARCATCHER), Olivia Oguma (MAMMA MIA) and actress Lexi Windsor will all be on hand to perform and pay tribute to the beloved director and actor ALAN MURAOKA ('Sesame Street', Broadway's MISS SAIGON, THE KING AND I) at an evening to benefit National Asian American Theatre Company (NAATCO) tonight, September 10 at 416 W. 42 St.

Third Street Theatre announces its second production in L.A.'s newest 99-seat Equity Waiver house, the Tony award-winning musical THE FULL MONTY, with book by Terrence McNally, music and lyrics by David Yazbek, choreography by John Todd, musical direction by Johanna Kent and direction by Richard Israel. THE FULL MONTY will open tonight, September 7 and run through Sunday, October 14 at the THIRD STREET THEATRE, 8115 W. Third Street in West Hollywood.

Hennepin Theatre Trust announced today that individual tickets for Catch Me If You Can will go on sale Monday, Sept. 10, 2012 at 9 a.m. in person at the State Theatre Box Office and at 10 a.m. online through HennepinTheatreTrust.org or by calling 1.800.982.2787. Based on the hit DreamWorks film and the incredible true story that inspired it, Catch Me If You Can debuts in Minnesota December 11-16, 2012 at Hennepin Theatre Trust's Orpheum Theatre. It is part of Hennepin Theatre Trust's 2012/13 Broadway Across America-Minneapolis Season.

Today in 2011, Catch Me If You Can closed at the Neil Simon Theatre, where it ran for 166 performances. Catch Me If You Can is a musical with a libretto by Terrence McNally and a theatrical score by Marc Shaiman and Scott Wittman. It follows the story of con artist Frank Abagnale, Jr. A majority of the plot is borrowed from the 2002 film of the same name, which in turn was based on Abagnale's 1980 autobiography. The production received four Tony Awards nominations, including one for Best Musical, winning Best Actor in a Musical for Norbert Leo Butz.

On Monday, October 1, The Pearl Theatre Company celebrates the opening of The Pearl Theatre (555 West 42nd Street), its first permanent home, with a ribbon cutting ceremony and a benefit reading of James Thurber's A Thurber Carnival, arranged and directed by Michael McKean, who will also perform. The reading's all-star cast also includes Jason Butler Harner, Jackie Hoffman, Elizabeth Marvel, Dakin Matthews, Maryann Plunkett, Jay O. Sanders, and Annette O'Toole.

Fiddlehead Theatre Company, in collaboration with the American Civil Liberties Union, with the support of Mayor Thomas M. Menino, City of Boston, announce an exciting new production of the Tony Award-winning musical RAGTIME. The production runs September 28-October 7, 2012 at Boston's Historic Strand Theatre, and aims to celebrate the work of the ACLU, and in particular keep issues of personal liberty at the forefront of people's minds during the upcoming elections. On September 15, 2012, at a special gala in Boston, RAGTIME creator Terrence McNally will accept the ACLU's Beacon of Liberty Award on behalf of himself and fellow creators Lynn Ahrens and Stephen Flaherty.

Signature Theatre will be hosting a special one-night performance and book-signing featuring Broadway star and Helen Hayes Award winner Ed Dixon (Signature's Sunset Boulevard). Tonight, August 27 at 8:00PM, Mr. Dixon will be performing original compositions as well narrate behind-the-scenes stories from his recent memoir Secrets of A Life On Stage…And Off. Copies of the book will be available to purchase, and a book-signing will take place following the performance, which will take place in Signature's intimate ARK Theatre.

The Robert Chesley/Jane Chambers Playwrights Project presents a reading of The Parade or Approaching the End of a Summer by Tennessee Williams, directed by Mark Finley and featuring Paul Caiola, Emily Hartford, Irene Longshore and Jeremy Lawrence.
