Take their vocal styles; add to them the sublime sounds of great operatic composers such as Puccini and Verdi, and "Voila" you have Alexander Kariotis, breathing new life into the rock opera-genre.

Tonight, June 21st, Ten Chimneys Foundation will welcome renowned Broadway director Mr. Jack O'Brien for a very special Conversation at Ten Chimneys. Mr. O'Brien will delight the audience with stories about his prolific life in the theatre. Mr. O'Brien's work can be seen in The Public Theater's Shakespeare in the Park production of Much Ado About Nothing, which runs June 3rd through July 6th in Central Park. Just announced, he will be directing Matthew Broderick and Nathan Lane in a new version of Terrence McNally's It's Only A Play, opening on Broadway in September, 2014.

Pride Films and Plays has announced an exciting cast for the Chicago premiere of Some Men by Terrence McNally. The cast includes PFP Artistic Associates Patrick Rybarczyk and Nelson Rodriguez, and Artistic Ensemble Members David Besky, Sam Button-Harrison, Tom Chiola, Edward Fraim, and Jude Hansen. They are joined by Ben Burke, Jeremy Sonkin, and Robert Ayres to become an ensemble of 10 playing over three dozen characters.

Terrence McNally's recent Tony-nominated play MOTHERS AND SONS will be the final show in SpeakEasy Stage Company's 24th Season, the theatre's Producing Artistic Director Paul Daigneault announced today. MOTHERS AND SONS will play for five weeks, May 8 - June 6, 2015, in the Roberts Studio Theatre in the Stanford Calderwood Pavilion at the Boston Center for the Arts.

Bucks County Playhouse has announced Marsha Mason has joined the cast of its new production of Ira Levin's Deathtrap, directed by Evan Cabnet. Mason, who is currently directing the Playhouse production of Neil Simon's Chapter Two that begins performances tonight, will play the role of the mysterious Helga Ten Dorp. The comedy thriller begins performances tonight, June 19.

According to Entertainment weekly, Harry Potter veteran Rupert Grint will soon make his Broadway debut in Terrence McNally's next Broadway comedy- It's Only a Play. Grint will play 'Frank Finger', a 'wunderkind director of a new play by an anxious writer.' He made his stage debut earlier this year in the West End production of Jez Butterworth's Mojo.

The Off Broadway Alliance, the organization of Off Broadway producers, theaters, general managers, press agents, and marketing professionals, will present the 4th annual Off Broadway Alliance Awards today (Tuesday) at 4:30 PM at Sardi's. Honorees will be on hand to receive their awards and Philip Seymour Hoffman, Ruth Maleczech and Nicholas Martin will be posthumously inducted into the Off Broadway Hall of Fame.

On Friday night, LGBT activist and The Normal Heart scribe Larry Kramer attended the Tony-nominated Mothers and Sons. After seeing the play, Mr. Kramer went backstage to say hello to friend and fellow playwright Terrence McNally, as well as Tyne Daly and the full company of Mothers and Sons.
