Estimated crowds of between 550,000 and 600,000 visited Melbourne last night to experience the fifth iteration of White Night Melbourne, Australia's most celebrated cultural and creative event. Melbourne turned on a cool and clear evening for the local, interstate and international visitors who navigated their way through White Night Melbourne.

Continuing their commitment to building the theatre going community of tomorrow, the Tricycle Theatre announces the launch of Mapping Brent, a brand new initiative that will see six new theatre companies created - five for young people, and a sixth for all ages. This unique project will see the Tricycle work on a weekly basis with 6 satellite venues across its home borough of Brent in a bid to engage communities and participants - many of whom have not previously engaged in arts - on their 'home turf'.

Since their inception in 2009, the Platform series, Danspace Project's signature curatorial initiative, has 'given dance presentation a makeover.' (The New York Times). Conceived by Danspace Project Executive Director and Chief Curator Judy Hussie-Taylor as exhibitions that unfold over time, Platforms are multi-week series of performances and events, organized by guest curators, that act as deep inquiries into artistic practice and concerns. Ten Platforms have been held to date, each accompanied by a print catalogue.

NYC Parks Commissioner Mitchell J. Silver, FAICP, joined City Council Speaker Melissa Mark-Viverito, New York City Comptroller Scott Stringer, Congressman Charlie Rangel, Diane Collier, chair of Community Board 11, Friends of White Park and multiple community and children's groups to cut the ribbon on reconstructed White Park in East Harlem/El Barrio. The park has been reconstructed to better suit the needs of people of various ages and abilities, and to provide additional play and educational value for the neighborhood's children and young adults.

Ehrenkranz Artistic Director Jane Moss today announced the schedule for Lincoln Center's seventh White Light Festival, running from October 16 through November 16, 2016. The international multidisciplinary festival, which takes its name from a quotation by the Estonian composer Arvo Part, is an annual exploration of the power of art to illuminate our interior and communal lives.
