The four-time Tony nominated musical sensation JEKYLL & HYDE is celebrating its 200th performance at Chicago's Cadillac Palace as part of the show's pre-Broadway tour. Tony Award nominee Constantine Maroulis stars in the title dual role of Dr. Henry Jekyll and Edward Hyde, alongside Grammy Award nominee and R&B superstar Deborah Cox as Lucy. Frank Wildhorn returned to his roots at the Pantages Theatre, where he got his start in the lobby of the Pantages and played to a group that included J. Now in the final stretches of its 25-week national tour before ultimately making its sit-down Broadway transfer later this Spring, the brand-new, revamped revival of JEKYLL & HYDE - THE MUSICAL has finally returned to Southern California for the next few weeks, this time playing performances at the Pantages Theatre in Hollywood through March 3. Although this loud, Vegas-style reboot's changes are swathed in good intentions, very little---not even its trio of impressively talented lead singers---can truly eradicate the show's laughably grandiose histrionics, its weak book, and that inescapable cheese-factor.

After several years of being 'green' as Elphaba in the Los Angeles, San Francisco and Broadway productions of the hit musical WICKED, singer/actress Teal Wicks can now be seen touring the country in the new Broadway-bound revival of JEKYLL & HYDE: THE MUSICAL, in which she co-stars with Tony nominee Constantine Maroulis and Grammy nominated pop star Deborah Cox. The show will play a limited 3-week engagement at the Pantages Theatre in Hollywood from February 12 to March 3. I have to say that the show as a whole was good - the sets were fun and inventive and the singing was excellent; however several aspects were not up to par.

Lane/Bonnie Comley have just announced the first preview, opening night and ticket on-sale dates for the new Broadway production of JEKYLL & HYDE, starring Tony Award nominee Constantine Maroulis in the dual title role of 'Dr. Henry Jekyll' & 'Edward Hyde' and Grammy-nominated R&B superstar Deborah Cox as 'Lucy'.

The New York Times reports that film producer Mike Medavoy ('Black Swan') and Rick Nicita of RP Media have teamed up to buy the film rights to the Broadway musical JEKYLL AND HYDE. The musical, with a book and lyrics by Leslie Bricusse and music by Frank Wildhorn, is set to return to Broadway's Marquis Theater in Spring 2013 following a 25-week National Tour.

Jekyll & Hyde is hitting Broadway this spring, but it's making a pit-stop right here in the Triangle on the way. It's a rare and fun chance to see a show before it opens on the Great White Way.
