The 23rd Annual HOT!, the NYC Celebration of Queer Culture, will run July 5th through August 2nd at Dixon Place. The world's longest-running LGBTQ Performance Festival, HOT! offers theater, music, dance, puppetry, performance art and homoeroticism for the whole family! HOT! is the pioneering celebration of queer performance and culture - and the oldest annual festival of its kind in the world. Dixon Place is proud that HOT! serves as the model for other queer festivals across the globe and has become a performance destination for emerging talent in the LGBTQ community.
TCG National Conference in San Diego to 'Cross Borders' Between Cultures, Now thru 6/21; Heads to Tijuana

Theatre Communications Group (TCG), the national organization for theatre, announces that Crossing Borders will be the theme of the 24th annual TCG National Conference in San Diego from today, June 19 to 21, 2014. In addition to challenging both the practical and conceptual barriers to strengthening the theatre field's vitality, literal borders will also be crossed when attendees journey to Tijuana, Mexico to engage with local artists and culture. This multi-day, international event will draw more than 1,000 theatre professionals from around the world for artistic and intellectual exchange through meetings, speeches and performances. Lauded theatre performer and playwright Taylor Mac will be one of the featured presenters.

HERE's Interstellar Gala, honoring Anita Contini and CJ Follini, takes place tonight, Monday, June 16. Proceeds support HERE, the award-winning producer and presenter of contemporary hybrid work for more than 20 years, renowned for the HERE Artist Residency Program, the Dream Music Puppetry Program, and the PROTOTYPE festival. The evening kicks off with a Cosmic Feast at City Winery (155 Varick Street) featuring VIP Cocktail Reception, Dinner, Performances, Live & Silent Auctions, followed by The Big Bang party at HERE (145 Sixth Avenue), featuring Cocktails, Hors d'Oeuvres, Silent Auction, Performances, Dancing. The event features Emcee/Performer Taylor Mac and performances by Hai-Ting Chinn, Eisa Davis, John Kelly, Laura Peterson Choreography, Basil Twist and others.
Circuit Theatre Announces 5th Anniversary Season

The Circuit Theatre Company, a critically-acclaimed, IRNE-nominated company run and operated by young theatre artists from across the country, is celebrating its fifth season by presenting three epic productions that explore questions of history, identity, and personal narrative in America. Now more than ever, Circuit hopes to celebrate the voice of young artists in Boston, while pushing the boundaries of what theatre can do and be. The season will feature the world premiere of an as-of-yet untitled new play by John Kuntz, commissioned by Circuit, at the Boston Center for the Arts. Its season will also include the Boston premieres of "The Walk Across America for Mother Earth" by A.R.T favorite Taylor Mac and Ellen Maddow and "Welcome to Arroyo's" by Kristoffer Diaz (playwright of "The Elaborate Entrance of Chad Deity") at the OBERON. All three shows are entirely produced, directed, designed, and acted by young theatre professionals.

NEW DRAMATISTS, Tony Honor recipient and the nation's premiere playwright development workshop, just honored five-time Tony Award winning director/choreographer Susan Stroman with their 2014 Lifetime Achievement Award at its 65th Annual Spring Luncheon tribute. Among the Stroman collaborators offering tributes was Theatre World Award winning actor Jason Danieley (Next to Normal, Curtains, The Full Monty, Candide) and New York City Ballet's Tiler Peck performing a selection from Little Dancer, Taylor Mac performing a selection from The Last Two People on Earth, Tony nominee Marin Mazzie performing from Bullets Over Broadway; and Contact collaborator John Weidman, Karen Ziemba performing a selection from Crazy For You, and cast members from The Scottsboro Boys: John Cullum, Brandon Victor Dixon, Shavey Brown, Max Kumangai, James T. Lane, Deandre Leatherbury, J.C. Montgomery, Justin Prescott, Clinton Roane, and David Bazemore. The event co-chairs are Letty Aronson, Roy Furman, and Julian Schlossberg.

Lapham's Quarterly announced today that their annual DECADES BALL will be celebrating the 1870s. The gala event will take place on Monday, June 2, beginning at 6:00 p.m. with cocktails followed by dinner at Gotham Hall (1356 Broadway). The 1870s gave birth to street lamps in New York City, to The Kentucky Derby, The Brooklyn Bridge, phonographs and the telephone, the first Harvard/Yale game, and P.T. Barnum's "Greatest Show on Earth." The themed evening will be sponsored by Encyclopedia Britannica and will celebrate Lapham's Quarterly's seventh year of publication.
