Dixon Place will present a world premiere of Creatures of Habit, choreographed by Jonathan Royse Windham to original music composed by Daniel Kazemi. Mr. Windham was recently named one of Dance Magazine's '25 to Watch.' Creatures of Habit will play for three weekends beginning tonight, October 3rd through Saturday, October 18th.

Due to popular demand, The Public Theater has extended Bridget Everett's critically acclaimed ROCK BOTTOM at Joe's Pub to Thursday, October 16. Created by Bridget Everett, Marc Shaiman, Scott Wittman, Adam 'Ad-Rock' Horovitz, and Matt Ray, and directed by Scott Wittman, this shockingly funny and moving new show began performances on September 9 and was originally slated to close on October 11. ROCK BOTTOM was originally commissioned as part of the Joe's Pub 2013 New York Voices series.

In June, Arena Stage at the Mead Center for American Theater announced a national call for three-minute monologues held in conjunction with the world premiere of Our War, a dynamic new theatrical event and collection of short stories by 25 esteemed playwrights that explores--through diverse perspectives--the historical memory and present-day reverberations of the U.S. Civil War. The open monologue contest inspired by Our War brought in more than 150 entries from around the world, and the theater is pleased to announce the three winning monologues: Tree by Dave Lankford of New York, NY; Mary/Marcus by Sarah Pitard of London, UK; and The Peacock's War by Lisa Sillaway of Wichita, KS.

The Old Globe today announced the full cast and creative team for Marco Ramirez's ('Orange is the New Black,' 'Sons of Anarchy') wildly theatrical new play The Royale, directed by two-time Obie Award-winning and Drama Desk Award-nominated Rachel Chavkin. Founding Artistic Director of New York's the TEAM, Chavkin most recently won accolades for Natasha, Pierre and the Great Comet of 1812 (The New York Times, Time Out New York, and New York Post Critics's Picks, and Top Ten of 2012 and 2013). The Royale will run October 4 to November 2 in the Sheryl and Harvey White Theatre, part of the Conrad Prebys Theatre Center. Preview performances run October 4 - 8. Opening night is Thursday, October 9 at 8:00 p.m.

Dixon Place presents new work every month -- theater, puppetry, performance and visual art, music, dance and literature -- at all stages of development. This Fall, Dixon Place will present new-works-in-progress written and performed by current Artist-in-Residence David Cale. On Thursday evenings this month -- September 4th, 11th, 18th, and 25th at 7:30pm -- Cuz I Just Got To Be Me...Free, a series of workshop performances that feature unfettered new songs, monologues and stories -- each evening a different 45-minute set -- will be performed in The Dixon Place Lounge.

Following last year's acclaimed Public Works production of The Tempest, The Public Theater will continue this community-based initiative this September with a free original musical adaptation of Shakespeare's THE WINTER'S TALE. Featuring more than 200 New Yorkers from all five boroughs performing alongside professional actors and The Public's community partners, Public Works' THE WINTER'S TALE will run for three nights only, September 5-7, at the Delacorte Theater in Central Park. The Circuit Theatre Company, a critically-acclaimed, IRNE-nominated company run and operated by young theatre artists from across the country, is celebrating its fifth season by presenting three epic productions that explore questions of history, identity, and personal narrative in America. Now more than ever, Circuit hopes to celebrate the voice of young artists in Boston, while pushing the boundaries of what theatre can do and be. The season will feature the world premiere of an as-of-yet untitled new play by John Kuntz, commissioned by Circuit, at the Boston Center for the Arts. Its season will also include the Boston premieres of 'The Walk Across America for Mother Earth' by A.R.T favorite Taylor Mac and Ellen Maddow and 'Welcome to Arroyo's' by Kristoffer Diaz (playwright of 'The Elaborate Entrance of Chad Deity') at the OBERON. All three shows are entirely produced, directed, designed, and acted by young theatre professionals.
