Steppenwolf Theatre Company announces the complete cast for Hir, a Chicago premiere by celebrated playwright, actor, singer-songwriter and performance artist Taylor Mac.

Pearle Harbour's Chautauqua is a wildly immersive and darkly comic new show by Dora-nominated writer/solo performer Justin Miller, opening August 4, as part of the 2017 SummerWorks Performance Festival.

Upon being discharged from the Marine Corps, Isaac (Arthur Darvill) goes back home only to find an anarchically ruled household at hand of his mother (Ashley McGuire). Fed up with domestic patriarchy, Paige seized the opportunity given by her abusive husband Arthur (Andy Williams) having a stroke to turn the tables and start making the rules. She built an ally in her transsexual son Max (Griffyn Gilligan), who helps her to keep tight hold on the reins. Isaac is forced to come to terms with a reality he doesn't recognise as his own.

Rehearsals are underway for Steppenwolf Theatre Company's Chicago premiere production of Hir, a subversive comedy by celebrated playwright, actor, singer-songwriter and performance artist Taylor Mac. Obie and Screen Actors Guild® Award-winning actress Lea DeLaria returned as host of this year's ceremony, which was held at Webster Hall (125 East 11th Street).

Columbia University hosted the 101st Pulitzer Prize ceremony yesterday, May 22nd, at Low Library. The American Theatre Wing and The Village Voice have announced that the star-studded line-up of presenters at tonight's 62nd Annual Obie Awards.

Steppenwolf Theatre Company presents the world premiere production ofPass Over by Antoinette Nwandu, directed by Danya Taymor. A provocative and hilarious riff on Waiting for Godot, the complete cast features ensemble member Jon Michael Hill (Moses), Julian Parker (Kitch) and Ryan Hallahan (Mister). Pass Over runs June 1 - July 9, 2017 in the Upstairs Theatre, 1650 N Halsted St. Press performances are Saturday, June 10 at 3pm and Tuesday, June 13 at 7:30pm. Tickets ($20-$89) are available through Audience Services at 312-335-1650 or steppenwolf.org. Just yesterday, the New York Drama Critics' Circle gathered to honor their 2017 award winners at Feinstein's/54 Below- Best Play: Oslo and Best Musical: The Band's Visit. The award for best play carries a cash prize of $2,500. The prize is made possible by a grant from the Lucille Lortel Foundation.
