A pioneer in the world of contemporary dance, MacArthur 'Genius Grant' recipient Liz Lerman's new theatrical dance piece Healing Wars examines healing in wartime, the nature of damage that continues when battles are over and the question of how individuals and societies absorb the pain and impact of war. The production features a company of performers in multiple roles, including Marjani Forte, George Hirsch, Tamara Hurwitz Pullman, Ted Johnson, Alli Ross, Samantha Speis, Keith A. Thompson, renowned stage and film actor Bill Pullman and a combat veteran to be announced at a later date. The limited engagement, world-premiere production of Healing Wars running through June 29 in the Arlene and Robert Kogod Cradle at Arena Stage at the Mead Center for American Theater. CrossFit Ganbatte Host 2nd Annual 'Barbells for Boobs', Today

Join CrossFit Ganbatte and 'Barbells for Boobs' for a day of fitness, music, food and fun for the whole family today, June 14, 2014 starting at 10 a.m. at CrossFit Ganbatte, 3235 San Fernando Road Unit 4 in Los Angeles. CrossFit Ganbatte will host their 2nd Annual 'Barbells for Boobs' Fundraiser to support breast cancer detection services for a client in the Cancer Center at St. Francis Hospital in the greater Los Angeles area. Crossfit Ganbatte became involved with the Barbells for Boobs event upon the urging of their friend and yoga instructor Erika Rae Theobold-Grant, who tragically lost her life in a recent car accident. The Crossfit Ganbatte family wants to honor her legacy by continuing to support this outstanding cause.

Shaw's ARMS AND THE MAN Coming to Sawyer Center Theater, 6/5-14

For its tenth anniversary season, the Northern New England Repertory Theatre Company (NNE Rep) will present George Bernard Shaw's classic comedy Arms and the Man* on the Sawyer Center stage at Colby-Sawyer College in New London. In this delicious romantic confection, Shaw's barbed wit targets themes of love, honor, and illusions, and serves up laughs aplenty at the foibles of human nature. NNE Rep's production of Arms and the Man will run for seven performances from June 5th through June 14th.

Dates have been announced for the Triangle return engagement of the Tony, Grammy and Olivier Award-winning hit musical JERSEY BOYS, the story of Frankie Valli and The Four Seasons. The musical will make its much-anticipated return to the Triangle to play DPAC on April 7 through April 12, 2015.

Broadway In Chicago Announces Return of JERSEY BOYS to Cadillac Palace Theatre, May 2015

Broadway In Chicago has announced the return engagement of the Tony, Grammy and Olivier Award-winning hit musical JERSEY BOYS, the story of Frankie Valli and The Four Seasons. The musical will make its much-anticipated return to Chicago to play the Cadillac Palace Theatre (151 W Randolph) for the first time May 12 through May 24, 2015.

Theatre of the Black Butterfly's POOL (NO WATER) Now Playing Through 6/8

Angela Meade's Summer 2014 Includes Festivals Across the U.S., 'WILLIAM TELL' in Edinburgh

Angela Meade – fresh from Metropolitan Opera triumphs as Bellini's Norma and as Alice Ford in Falstaff (the latter seen worldwide in the Met's Live in HD series) – has a busy summer ahead. The soprano, whose honors include the Richard Tucker and Beverly Sills Artist Awards, will perform at festivals across the U.S. from June through August. She launches her summer season as soprano soloist in Beethoven's Symphony No. 9 with the Baltimore Symphony under Marin Alsop (June 5-8) before taking on the title role of Donizetti's Lucrezia Borgia in her return to the Caramoor International Music Festival (July 12, 18). The Washington State native also headlines two festivals in Oregon: she sings Violetta in Verdi's La traviata for the gala opening concert of the Astoria Music Festival (June 14), and the title role of Bellini's Norma for Portland's SummerFest (Aug 8).

Fourth Arts Block to Celebrate FABLES Public Art Program, 6/9

On Monday, June 9th, FABnyc will celebrate the successful installation of five visual art projects through the FABLES public art program with the artists, partners, and the public. After an open call for work, FABLES presented five artists/teams who created public art works that explore the Lower East Side's living cultural heritage, rich historical legacies, and current issues in public storytelling through visual art.
