The Muny announced today that Davis Gaines will play the role of Joseph Pulitzer, rounding out the principal cast for Newsies, the seventh and final production of its 99th season. Design teams were also announced for this production, which plays August 7- 13. Newsies is proudly sponsored by BMO Harris Bank.

Following its initial casting announcement, The Muny announced today additional principal casting for its spectacular 99th season. This star-packed group includes a mixture of some of the brightest names from stage and screen, with many making their Muny debut this summer.

We all know that February is Black History Month, but did we all take a moment to reflect and celebrate? Well we did just that, Broadway-style, at Sessions on February 23rd. Not only did we invite a starry roster of Broadway's best and brightest to share music representing the influence, importance and impact of African American legacy on Broadway, but we also paid homage to some Broadway trailblazers like Diahann Carroll, Ben Vereen, "Stokes" and more. We even challenged our audience to "name that African American Tony winner," which of course gave us the opportunity to bask in the glorious voices of Melba Moore, Hinton Battle, Heather Headley, Ted Ross, Jennifer Holiday and many more. Tonight, February 23rd, Broadway Sessions will celebrate Black History Month focusing on African American themes, characters, music, moments and impact on musical theatre's past and present and future featuring a starry roster of Broadway veterans.

The Public Theater announced the fourth season of PUBLIC STUDIO, which will present two new plays this spring.

BROADWAY SESSIONS is described as an evening of musical performances, games and open mic featuring a new Broadway guest each week. The show is created and hosted by Ben Cameron (Bway Wicked, Aida and Footloose) and features musical director Joshua Stephen Kartes on piano.

Last year, Raleigh Little Theatre presented their production of a musical that was lovingly ripped off from the 1975 classic film Monty Python & the Holy Grail. Now through November 20th, North Carolina Theatre is presenting their production without ripping off RLT. Spamalot is a highly irreverent spoof of the quest of King Arthur and and his Knights of the roundtable.
