'A Shayna Maidel' will play in the Clarence Brown Theatre's Lab Theatre tonight, March 26 to April 12, 2015. Because the show has been sold out for some time, two additional evening performances have been scheduled for March 29 and 31.

Rebel Theater Company and the Nuyorican Poets Cafe present the world premiere production of R+J: An Uncivil Tale, a new adaptation of Shakespeare's Romeo & Juliet. The play, which was written by Adam Mace and Kaitlyn Schirard, is set in the border-state of Kentucky in 1863 during the American Civil War. Romeo, son of the former-slave Montague's, meets Juliet, daughter of the Confederate Capulet's.

The event will take place on Friday, June 19 in Goldstein Auditorium in Syracuse University's Schine Student Center.

In this award-winning classic about the universal struggle for human dignity, a black man in apartheid-era South Africa tries to overcome oppressive work regulations to support his family. Co-creator John Kani performed in the original production and won the 1975 Tony Award for Best Actor. Now, 40 years later, Kani directs his son, Atandwa Kani, in this new international production. In this 1991 off-Broadway triumph, two couples grapple with the mundane (burgers and kites) and the momentous (illness and infidelity) as they try (very hard) to celebrate the Fourth of July at a beach house. Lips Together, Teeth Apart includes a touch of Chekhov with the sly wickedness of McNally. Presented by the Department of Drama in Syracuse University's College of Visual and Performing Arts (SU Drama), Lips Together, Teeth Apart performs February 20 through March 1 in the Storch Theater at the Syracuse Stage/Drama Complex, 820 East Genesee Street. During the month of February, Syracuse Stage will have four productions appearing coast-to-coast. Here locally, In the Next Room, or the vibrator play will complete its run on February 15. Sizwe Banzi is Dead recently completed a run in Princeton, NJ and will start up in Syracuse on February 25. Other Desert Cities will start performing in Portland, OR on February 21 where it will run several weeks before moving to Syracuse Stage in April. Stage's fall production of August Wilson's The Piano Lesson had a second run in Seattle, WA that ended February 8.

Directed by Wendy Goldberg, the cast features Hugh Kennedy, Emmy Award-winning actress Michael Learned, James Lloyd Reynolds, and Patrick Gibbons and Jacob D. Wilner in alternating performances.
