Push Physical Theatre and Father Goose Continue 'Just Kidding' Series at Symphony Space Today

Symphony Space's Just Kidding continues its weekly boredom-busting performances from the superheroes of all-ages entertainment. The holiday season performances in December launch (literally) with the awe-inspiring acrobatics of Push Physical Theatre today, December 13th and the up-tempo, kid-friendly hip hop tunes of Father Goose on December 20th.

Wordless Music Orchestra and the Lost Bayou Ramblers to Perform Live Accompaniment for Beasts of the Southern Wild Screening, 1/23-24

On Friday, January 23 and Saturday, January 24 (8 pm) in the Peter Jay Sharp Theatre at Symphony Space, director Benh Zeitlin's acclaimed film Beasts of the Southern Wild will be screened with live accompaniment by the Wordless Music Orchestra and the Lost Bayou Ramblers under Ryan McAdams. The soundtrack was composed by Zeitlin with Dan Romer; it will be performed to a music-less print of the film created especially for this project. Tickets are priced depending on location in the house: $65 ($55 for members), $47 ($40 members), $35 ($30 members), and $25 for those under 30, available atwww.symphonyspace.org.

Drastic Action and More Set for This Month at Green Space

Green Space is pleased to offer a diverse roster of new/emerging artists in December. Fertile Ground will present new work by various artists and Take Root will present an evening of work by Drastic Action.

Benjamin Scheuer's THE LION to Open Off-Broadway this Winter

Producer Eva Price announced today that The Lion, the gripping, autobiographical solo show written and performed by Benjamin Scheuer, will play an extended engagement Off-Broadway this winter, following an award-winning run at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival and sold-out productions at the Manhattan Theatre Club and London's St. James Theatre. The Lion, directed by Sean Daniels, begins previews at the Lynn Redgrave Theater at Culture Project (45 Bleecker Street) on Tuesday, February 3, 2015, with an official opening night set for Sunday, February 8, 2015. The show is set to run through March 29, 2015.

Stage Left Studio to Remount HOME IN HER HEART Next Month

Stage Left Studio will present an encore engagement of Margaret Morrison's critically acclaimed love story HOME IN HER HEART. This play with music is directed by Cheryl King, starring Audelco Award winner Ava Jenkins and Margaret Morrison. Previews begin January 13 with opening night slated for January 30.

World Music Institute & Met Museum Present NRITYAGRAM, 1/10

World Music Institute, in collaboration with The Metropolitan Museum of Art, presents two back-to-back performances from the world-renowned Indian dance troupeNrityagram on Saturday, January 10, 2015 at 5:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. in the Met's Temple of Dendur, located in the The Sackler Wing.

Parallel Exit to Present EVERYBODY GETS CAKE at 59E59 Theaters

59E59 Theaters will host the New York premiere of EVERYBODY GETS CAKE!, created and performed by Joel Jeske, Danny Gardner and Brent McBeth, and directed by Mark Lonergan. Produced by Parallel Exit, EVERYBODY GETS CAKE! begins performances on Friday, January 16 for a limited engagement through Sunday, February 8.

Oconer Navarro, Kamala Sankaram, Tidtaya Sinutoke (with Ty Defoe) and Jeff Tang.

HO HO HUMBUG World Premiere Opens Tonight at Stark Naked Theatre

Stark Naked Theatre Company presents its first-ever holiday production with the world premiere of Ho Ho Humbug - a hilarious Christmas-themed comedy produced in association with Third Coast Creative. Certain to become an annual holiday tradition for Houston theatre go-ers, Ho Ho Humbug opens tonight, December 5th and runs through December 24th at Stark Naked's STUDIO 101. The play is recommended for audiences aged 13 and older.
