West End performer, Strictly Come Dancing favourite and television actor Danny Mac will star in of Amelie the Musical during the show's run in Glasgow this summer.
Two new plays have been added to The Blank Theatre's Living Room Series schedule. The Good Samaritan by Wendy McLeod, directed by Sylvia Cervantes Blush, will be presented on Monday, April 1, at 8pm and The Calm Before by Deborah Yarchun, directed by Warren Davis, will be presented on Monday, April 8, at 8pm. The Coney Island Ritual Cabaret Festival marks International Culture Lab's (ICL) 4th consecutive year probing the fantastical partnership of ritual and entertainment on Coney Island USA's (CIUSA) Sideshows by the Seashore stage. This year again ICL has assembled an array of performance artists, musicians, magicians, puppeteers, sideshow performers and dancers, all of whom have been tasked with presenting original works that define ritual cabaret through the lens of their own particular aesthetic, discipline and lineage.
History comes alive at Woodlawn Cemetery, Mausoleum & Mortuary in Santa Monica during their Living History Tour in which costumed actors portraying noted personalities interred there share their stories and contributions to history and society. And although I had heard about the tours in previous years, last weekend was the first time I actually spent two hours on a wonderfully brilliant Saturday afternoon walking among the many souls who chose this peaceful spot as their final resting place. This year's tour featured 14 notable characters more than willing to share their life stories, often adding in many details not widely known about them.
