Never ones to shy away from a challenge (Little Shop of Horrors, Sweeny Todd), the CCTeens (Columbia Children's Theatre's YouTheatre actors in grades 7-12) will tackle the famous Gilbert and Sullivan operetta The Pirates of Penzance beginning Friday, March 23 and running through Sunday March 25.  Showtimes are Friday at 7:00 pm, Saturday at 3:00 pm and 7:00 pm and Sunday at 3:00 pm. Hale Centre Theatre in Gilbert presents No, No, Nanette, a delightful Broadway musical by Otto Harbach and Frank Mandel. The lighthearted romp transports us back in time to the roaring 1920's where we meet three couples in the midst of a blackmail scheme. We meet Tom who wants to marry Nanette, Jimmy who is secretly the financial benefactor to 3 single young ladies, unbeknown to his frugal wife, Sue. And finally Billy, who is tasked with cleaning up Jimmy's mess, helping Tom win over Nanette, and keeping his own wife, Lucille, from getting suspicious!

The weekend before Easter is going to be jam-packed with fun and amazing theatre as Columbia Children's Theatre (CCT) presents It's The Easter Beagle, Charlie Brown and Stephen Schwartz's Godspell Jr. April 10 -13. The Easter Beagle runs Saturday, April 12 @ 11 & 3:00 and Godspell Jr. runs Thursday, April 10 at 7:00, Friday, April 11 at 7:00 and Saturday, April 12 at 7:00. There will be a special double feature matinee Sunday at 3:00 pm of both shows. Tickets are $10 per person and $8.00 for seniors and active military for individual performances, and $15 for Sunday's double feature matinee. Love is in the air at Theatre Artists Studio, as this year's installment in The Studio's "Words for Music" program features songs of romance by popular composers and lyricists Lerner and Loewe, Frank Loesser, Irving Berlin, Stephen Sondheim, Paul McCartney and many more. CRAZY LOVE explores the unintended consequences that result for a group of close friends following the unexpected engagement of one of its members. In story and song, the friends explore the ups and downs of love, the highs and lows of romantic relationships, and the sometimes comical, sometimes bittersweet, side effects of being in love.
