REVIEW: CHILDREN AT PLAY Endearingly Comes of Age at The Living Theatre

Throughout Jordan Seavey's new work 'Children at Play,' characters recite rapid fire memorized definitions of words they have learned in the course of their educational pursuits. These interjections provide emphasis and commentary on the action that is driving the scenes that surround them.

CHILDREN AT PLAY Plays The Living Theatre 10/29-11/21

CollaborationTown will present the World Premiere of Jordan Seavey's CHILDREN AT PLAY. Directed by Scott Ebersold (Outstanding Director at FringeNYC 2005 for the silent concerto), the play features a cast of 8 including downtown favorites Susan Louise O' Connor (2009 Theatre World Award for Broadway's Blithe Spirit opposite Angela Lansbury) and Boo Killebrew (Best Actor at FringeNYC 2003 for This is a Newspaper, 2007 NYIT Award for Best Featured Actress in 6969).

On Thursday, October 15 join hundreds of NYC artists, theatre companies and service organizations in a festive celebration in Union Square with FREE performances, including; Kate D. Levin, Commissioner of the New York City Department of Cultural Affairs, proclaiming October 15th 'Free Night of Theater Day', special musical guests, celebrities, & booths, a 'Fame' flash mob with over 50 dancers, children's theater, NYC's top sleight of hand artists, con men & mentalists, make up artists, clowns of all shapes & sizes, the Ice Capades on roller skates, a dog in space and a fashion show extravaganza with famous costumes from TDF's special collection MCed by Joey Arias!

'BLITHE SPIRIT' Recoups Investment on Broadway

Variety reports that the current Broadway revival of 'Blithe Spirit' has recouped its investment cost of $2.68 million. Producers of the revival of the 1941 Noel Coward comedy, which opened in March, announced that it made its money back just before it finishes off its limited run this Sunday.
